Rather off topic, especially as its generally looked down on by modellers, but just tried to find Google Sketchup only to find it doesn't exist any more!

Now "Sketchup Make" its owned by some other company and has been since 2012... When did this happen?

I'm curious as to how the software will be different under new ownership. Probably quite a few of you were aware of the change, I was just surprised!

Yeah, that was what I discovered. Was hoping for major refinements, downloaded "sketchup make", had it on my PC for all of 15 minutes... haha

Custom Mac Pro (2014): OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) and Windows 8.1 Pro: Octa-threaded Xeon E5 v2 @ 3.7Ghz [9775]; Dual AMD FirePro D500 (3GB VRAM Each) [3769]; 12GB RAM [2517]; 512GB SSD [9074];

At the detected score [passmark 9074], my SSD is ranked 3rd of all SSD's in the charts

It is still there, Trimble Sketchup 2014 and the same software just new owners. Sadly though new owners means higher prices on the full version but from experience for gaming, sketchup 7 works best for models, the free version as it exports in .kmz which is a zipped version of .dae which is importable to all 3d programs.

This town is infested with killer cockroaches .. repeat .. killer cockroaches !!
