Hi. I would like to make few models myself. I'm using Delgine's Deled CE for modelling, but when i export .x file and place it in the editor i cant see the model. So, if anyone uses this software please advice what settings to use to be compatible with FPSCR

this is my .fpe file

Downloaded the program and tried it out. I would use the NUxporter from John Watte. Seems to be more stable and xfile's do show.

Not a bad 3d app at all.

desc = test (1)

Remove the (1) from that line...

desc = test

Then try that

Put the scale to about 100 or higher. The first time I did it, my model was to small to see.

;visualinfo

textured = combat building_D.dds

effect = effectbank\reloaded\entity_basic.fx

castshadow = 0

scale = 100

Deled works great for importing old .map files, but I still haven't figured out how to use the UV editor. Once I can learn this, it will be nice software to use for reloaded.

That won't matter if the BMP, FPE and X files share the same name.

@Shywriter:

Read and follow the "Importing model

Ahh ok...From the models I have imported unless the Description is EXACTLY the same as the Model.x they wont show up irrelevant of what the textures are called ?

Weird ..

As for Deled...I noticed when you export the map file you also get to point to your texture folder....So I tried one of my old Elite Force maps...Loaded mostly fine and worked in reloaded ...BUT...unless im missing something you have to copy the multi textures in the same dir as the .X model and the .FPE and of course Reloaded does not support Multi textures

I have found a UV editor in the program.....Hmm...May be possible after all.....Going to play a little more

So im pretty gutted its a great tool otherwise "

Yeah... I'm at the same point. I am trying to convert old .map files with deled. The .map files I have are from a game I was working on in TGE and used the Constructor. I imported them into deled fine with all the textures. Just can't understand how the UV Editor in Deled works to export it. I'm going to try and use Ultimate Unwrap3d Pro and see if I can get anywhere with that. I would prefer to use Constructor but they won't update it with a Collada exporter. If they did, then I could just import my old .map files it into Blender and export .x.

That's what I keep hearing/reading, syncromesh! However, I have converted some models/characters from the old FPSC and some use multiple textures. The female explorer from the tropical pack comes to mind as she was the most recent. I only realized this because as of the latest beta she appears to have serious skin cancer. Really. There is no normal map for her yet her skin looks horrible! Bumpy, grooved, etc. I believe the secret is to not reference any specific texture in the fpe. I think the directx file format calls it's own textures. Perhaps TGC is discouraging the use of multiple textures because maybe eventually it will not support it, but for now, it still (kinda) does.

But the bottom line is, her diffuse textures come in 3 maps. One is for her hair, one is for her face and boots, and the other is for the rest of her. She looked fine as of the last beta but with 1.007, she seriously looks, shall we say, disadvantaged. Yet all 3 diffuse texutures are still there!
