Don't want to seem pushy but this competition is really bringing forward a lot of things people consider required to make a basic playable level and something i think that could really set things apart would be the ability to add to the HUD, maybe not fully customise whats there already (yet but definitely later), But to be able to display in the top right or left or where ever a persistent score count or amount of cash, something so people can visually see this information without prompt scripts attached to everything at least until we have an inventory system in place.

So basically just asking if this is on the list, How far away would it could be.

Thankyou

Asked this a while back and was told by Lee that it will be completely different in reloaded compared to classic and X10.

The intention is You will even be able to make all these changes easily...Even on the fly

But I dont think its not top of the list yet though

I've mentioned this in the competion thread, but I'll say again here. If you have any questions or concerns please PM or email me and I will help you. V1007 is still WIP and it's possible that we can address your issues.

Just outside of pm's I'm just interested to see how many people in the reloaded community would see this as a vital feature early on or if its something best left alone until a fair amount of time could be put into it?

So community input anyone?

HUDs sound great for making a game "feel" more done, but in reality there are a lot of game design enhancements that can be added instead of game-play enhancements. For creating a game I want/need more LUA power, better editing views in 2D mode, easier editing in 3D mode, more ENABLED options when you select entities, explosion effect(does not need to have visual explosion but the concept should work).. I can go on for a while but there are a ton of little things that just do not work.. they should be working before we add more "beauty." It is hard for me to know all the little things since game developing is new to me but everyday I hit limits on my ideas so I learn what we need little by little.

In the beginning when I bought this I wanted inventory/multiplayer/vehicles...now that I see what is more important when making a game I have changed my desired needs. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next update so I can become more competitive for the competition.

The plan is to create a series of 'sprite HUD commands' for the LUA script so you can create your 2D overlays much like you might in a simple programming language We won't be doing this for the next build however, and your competition entries will have to be judged on your scene design and game play elements. Reloaded will be avoiding the use of hard-coded systems where-ever possible, as we have found that moving things to a LUA script makes it easier for the core team to work on changes and improvements, but also opens the door wide open for you to create your own customized versions of what we release.

Sounds great.
I am starting to miss the custom HUDs
