Just a thought- it would be nice to be able to reply to someone in the same thread without having it be several posts down/removed from the original post (where they may never see it, or where coherency is lost among the others). Quite often the discussions run their own direction and fall off point. In many forums, a direct reply to a comment is posted in a "tree view" under the original.

Couldn't you just use the quote tag for this?

This isn't really very easy to do with the current forum code it would take a rewrite of pretty much the whole system so don't expect this any time soon
