Feature Creep / AI, Grenades and Melee

Grenades and an ability for your character to melee the enemy would be cool.



When it comes to AI two of the most important things I can think of are:



1) For the NPC's to be able to dodge your sights, making you move around your aim in order to focus on them to get a shot.



2) The ability to use cover and hide behind objects



Not sure how easy these things are to implement with a what you see is what you get editor, but it would be nice to see if it's possible.



Oh one other thing, if the ai soldiers had an option so that they can throw grenades that would keep the player on their toes at bit more!



Just suggestions... not sure how possible that all is!



I must say I'm impressed with FPSCR. I made a bronze pledge yesterday and having now used it I can see great potential in it's future. When I next get paid I will be upgrading to gold pledge. This gamer creator is everything I have dreamed of! I can't wait for the construction kit either.. I'll be able to build massive cities which I'd love to do. I'm patient though. I do realize there is a lot of work to do on the engine that the developers want to do first. Must say the Beta runs perfectly on my computer, no problems so far.

there is no fire or explosions yet, so no to grenades at present or in 07, but i know there is a rpg weapon from 1st beta that was removed for not having the effects added yet, so maybe grenades will work their way in later on sometime with the rpg?. 07 will see enemies dodge and dive for cover and even more commands which is cool .



personally im hoping for petrol bombs and more, flash grenades would be awesome also.

as for close combat yes please, but this is already do able if you have the knowledge of it from what i have seen already, in the forums people are armed with bows and swords. but i agree close combat weapons should be added into the stock media for reloaded..at some point in time.

I'm pleased with the AI now, It does everything I asked for and more... with the addition of cover zones and everything - well done TGC

All I could want now are melee and grenades. The melee is most important of the two since it's really frustrating when an enemy entity is in close quarters and you have to wait to reload your weapon so you can continue shooting them.

Overall I'm very pleased with how the FPSCR project is going.

Hi,

Both meele and grenades (and more) will be coming. Not sure on the timeline yet, but we're aware that these are both often requested features and they are pretty high on our list of priorities.
