3rd Party Models/Media Chat / Semi transparent glass

Hi guys does anyone have a texture that works as semi transparent glass i have tried a few ways but reloaded always spits it out as black

Yea thanks i was reading that but it involved messing with the shaders so just left it.

I've been playing about trying make glass recently as well using the alpha channels in PS but having the same issues as you.



PC - Windows 7 64bit, Intel i5, 12Gb Ram, 1TB WD Black, Evga Gefore 760gtx 3GB

Laptop - Windows 7 32Bit, Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000, 4GB Ram, 500Gb WD, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850

In PS just highlight the area you want transparent then go into channel add new channel .turn off rgb then select the alfa channel & fill the area you are wanting with a gray then save as .dds with alfa

Forgot to mention turn off alfa & turn rgb back on before saving

Thanks Henry cant seem to get it to work i have attached the image i need Semi transparent to see if you could work your magic or even if you have another texture that is around 50/50

Here is a transparent texture set at 50% transparency based upon your original texture if its of any help and use.



Its a .png. Why well because its absolutely easy to make them transparent for use in the current Reloaded versions as opposed to .dds which is more difficult with current Reloaded transparency management handling features we have until TGC can update something helpful there in making it easier to apply transparency to entities (textures) internally to the editor (script file)



Use .png instead at least I do and it works for me perfectly inside Reloaded for me and a breeze to make the images transparent. No fiddling or hard work or workarounds or anything complicated.



Not sure if that will help or work as I have not tested it in Reloaded. Just made it and attached. I am sure it will be OK.

Thanks guys much appreciated its strange when modeling as i do for other engines all looks ok in 3dmax then reloaded turns it black anyway thanks again i will give these a try

Yea that worked guys thanks again its a strange one as now its not transparent in 3d-max but it is in game lol
