Hey,

I was quite proficient in my opinion in FPI script, but with lua I am a noob again I was wondering is it possible for when a player enters a zone, that the gravity will switch so he starts going up.

Thanks

Currently, Gravity on/off is only supported in the test game-editor. Still, seems like something for feature creep to me.

For the record, it is my greatest wish for this program. Even though FPS's are nearly always gravity laden killers, think of the added dimension that would be possible in a game scenario where leaving the ground becomes essential in accomplishing a goal. I have no doubt in my mind that this is the team of designers that can make such a feature expected in game creation software everywhere. Am i right?

In the players editor (start position marker) there is a setting for gravity which Ive found by mistake. I didnt like the height my character was jumping so i happened across this setting and figured out the higher the number, the more gravity. Ive never set this to Zero to see what it does but just might do that to see. . . .

EDIT, a setting of zero is NO gravity and once you jump, you just float away as I expected. A setting of 200 allowed me to jump to about 30 feet. . . . Although its not flight, its definately a start I guess.

Where in the world are you finding this "players editor"? Are you right clicking on one of the markers or something like that? I just don't see what you are saying you found - is it in the software while it is running, a script or is it in the files or what?

As I stated in my post its in the start position marker as highlighted above. Your not scared of snakes are you? Once you set this down in the map, right click it and about half way down is the gravity setting. Although it wont allow you to float at a level or fly, it does help that its there.

Thank you for the info. Negative numbers make a constant climb, btw. Nevertheless, afterwards forward thrust is lost. Very interesting find!
