Well didn't expect to find it so quickly, but it seems the beta's are floating around, can only be a member of the forum or some one who purposely got it to share.

Thank fully it's the beta only, which make them pretty useless in the current state, with conkit and model importer things change a bit on that front.

@uefacup dude, I will be searching every where for your email addresses, and will eventually find some thing, and forward it to lee, and he can do what he wants with it personally I would like to see your right to access the product removed.

On that topic, what is going to be done with protecting the software, I didn't pay a bucket load to allow some idiot get the software for free.

Please pass any information you have to Rick, and we will deal with this as required.

Many thanks,

I was also talking about this as look what happened to past releases ie x9 x10 both ended up on torrent sites and are still there.

i have also seen a rise in members without a backer badge this could be why i know some of them just simply just didn't get a badge but could be worth a look.

I really can't see anyone in these forums posting their betas on to the net not when they have paid their hard earned cash for it!!! and also most members of these forums are from the classic forums too where pirating was not acceptable full stop.. this person has either paid for it and doesn't care about TGC or his hard earned cash?? or he has got hold of a copy from someone he knows without them knowing??? of maybe they do?? and he's uploaded it onto the net!!! I think an online serial activation needs to be implemented every time the software is loaded to check and verify your serial against your email address.

I was also thinking this but would be pants if your net was down or you went mobile but yea worth thinking about.

It is not possible to have FPS Creator Reloaded without a backer badge if you purchased after the start of 2014, the payment system has been changed to automatically give badges now, anyone without a badge that joins after that date most likely doesn't have FPS Creator Reloaded.

In some rare cases this may not be the case, for example with manual payments done via email.

TGC are already developing a new asset protection system, so the software protection will also be updated in time I'd imagine but that isn't on the table just yet.

There is at least one entire community revolving around unauthorized FPSC:Reloaded betas, with a forum seemingly as popular as this one All the betas have been posted there (and somewhere at one point I found a Russian site with a hidden Facebook group also for sharing the betas). I can pass my info to Rick as well if I can find some of it again.

Since it is still beta with limited number of paid members, hopefully it won't be too difficult to sniff out the moles and delete their accounts from future access. Serial activation similar to what TGC has used in past products could help stop it, or with more effort perhaps each build could have unique data per user so the pirated copies could be downloaded by TGC and analyzed to pinpoint the offending user.

I don't have a backer badge because I didn't think it was important. I'll rectify that now.

So now you all think it takes a badge to prove you bought the software, there is absolutely no reason to think any one on these forums uploaded the software, or even that anyone on here gave it out to whoever did. Many purchasers probably never visit the forum and if the number of folks who regularly post around here is a measure of how many pledged then finances are in a really bad way for Reloaded.

All this going on now is the reason it's best to simply contact a Mod or TGC themselves before stirring up accusations and making assumptions.

A badge only means you backed the software and it wouldn't stop someone from pirating it anyhow even if they did have it legit in the first place, not having a compulsory badge would actually put you in the clear since you likely don't receive the software and it's not a rule for membership of the forum nor will it ever be....make sense?

I see no reason at all to point fingers at those who don't have badges nor am I going to accuse those who don't of not having a legit version of Reloaded, it was open to pledges long before start of 2014.

Many visit here with a view to purchasing in future or simply may feel they don't need a badge, we don't want to start a witchhunt on these members...do we?

For the record, I think it is rather insulting to insinuate that not having a "backer badge" should lead some members to suspicion. For the record, I have backed this company for many, many years now - I have 3 accounts with TheGameCreators. If having a badge or a title any other label is so important, then it should be applied to the member without request - I am a gold backer but I'm not here to try to impress anyone - if your worth your salt as an artist then a badge is going to do precious little to prove it.

It is rather disgusting for anyone to take the low road on the internet, but let's face it, the world wide web is not exactly a society of angelic volunteers trying to improve the lot of mankind. On the other hand, before the accusations start flying simply because some members think loyalty to a company is reflected in a show-off icon, why don't those of you who think that having a badge as being so important request that those of us who don't have one be given the icon without having to bow down and beg for it? After all, it is us customers who are - in all reality - supporting this company and instead of insulting us through ridiculous suggestions that badges reflect honesty, why not support your fellow patrons and suggest that all gold members be identified without having to beg for it?

I'm hoping that the store will also be opened soon. I took the time to fill out the forms and answered all the means required of becoming a vendor for FPSCR. There was a request on this forum 2 months ago for artists and I feel like they have forgotten us. Maybe a badge for those of us trying to also help in game assets would at least make us feel appreciated - since the hype about needing artists right away seems to have fallen flat. Do I sound a little disappointed? I'm 57 years old and have associated with many various businesses in my life - I've learned a little about how to respect your business associates - and lately coming to these forums is getting rather depressing. Who would have thought that not having a little picture would be cause for making a paying customer feel so hated?

I hope whoever is stealing from TheGameCreators gets the justice deserved of a thief. I also hope everybody else remembers how important every supporter of this noteworthy company is - without a community of generous backers, none of us would be able to enjoy this program.

All you need is love....so let me have your burger.

Rather than fighting in between ourselves, lets stand together and fight the piracy by reporting every link to the relevant website, TGC is too busy to be handling this them selves, so if you notice some thing be it mediafire or whoever report it directly to mediafire or whoever.

And lets rather pitch ideas, to protect the software, without the annoyance of DRM or any thing like that.

Yep,but they can always ignore it unless it comes from the source, having that button means they can say they TRY to keep it legal just as they have a Terms of Service which means nothing. It's only to cover their own butts.

it's one of the problems with torrent sites in particular. Maybe a site like Mediafire might take some notice, they don't want to go the same route as Megaupload, who found out the hard way. But many torrent sites are on servers in countries which are outside any kind of jurisdiction. Those that are covered will only take notice of a legal threat, and you cant threaten them with legal action if you don't own IP.

Seriously, report it to TGC themselves. I doubt they are too busy to pass on it.

Hi,

No one on the forums should accuse anyone. So please don't.

Wizard of Id, please send me (or Rick), all the information you have on this and we will deal with it as appropriate.

Thanks,

SC

Thank you .

This will be investigated. I'm now locking this thread as often they just point people towards the pirated copies.
