Is 3d World studio an essential or recommendable purchase for FPSCR game makers?

What can you do in it you can't do in freely available programs like Blender? What are the advantages?

I have been using it and as a Radiant user its great for making models and exporting to .X but it has one downside

At the moment FPSCR does not support multi textures which means you can only officially make a model with one texture......

I did find a workaround that I posted here..

3D World Studio is more a mapping tool but the fact it exports to .X file is a real Bonus

The 3D World Studio product is quite old now and I can say that we will not be directly supporting it for Reloaded, and instead championing something like Blender which allows both X and FBX export, and has a HUGE community.

PC SPECS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Intel Core i7 920, NVIDIA Geforce 9600 GT GPU, 6GB RAM

I have used a few of the free programs and tried out some of the ones that you have to pay for and really it comes down to how much do you want from the software.

Some of the free ones are easy to use but don't have as many tools as the ones you buy and even in the ones you buy there are differences.

It took me a while to find the right software to use for myself, the main ones I used at first were Blender and a trial of MilkShape. I ended up buying Milkshape because as a newbie it was easy to use but I had trouble when trying to animate something and then putting it in FPSCR.

So really I suppose what I am saying is you need to play with a few and see which one you get to grips with and which one suits your needs.

Hope this helps

I've got something to say

Has anyone tried Deled with Reloaded? It's also free.
