The splash screen will remain while Reloaded is in Beta. This is to protect our product during development, and to ensure that it is clear to others that this is a Beta product and not represenative of the final version.

Thank you for replying, does that mean it will be removed after beta phase and out of curiosity, how long do you imagine the beta phase will last ?

Great software BTW !!

Yes, it wil be removed, although it's likely some sort of confirmation of the engine used will be required. I've no information on this at present.

We've no date for a final release, it all depends on how well the beta testing goes. The next few betas will see Reloaded develop into a much rounder engine, and then we'll have a clearer picture.

I think the best way to do this is by the designer adding the reloaded engine in the way that artistically fits the game. I think a factory ran splash screen is abig no no. I am all for promote reloaded engine. But done how my game is. Themed in other words. And if every reloaded game has a reloaded same screen and icon etc will put off a lot of people and also makes the game less professional for indie gaming. I would be happy to do a medieval design tgc reloaded engine. Etc or whatever I am designing. If it gets an all clear. But I think we need good artistic freedom with a good licence that says you have to display a made with reloaded and viewable for at least 5-10seconds. This will be a very appealing prospect. And let the maker be able to personalise thier creation and reloaded gets it's credit as it should

an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!

Im not sure if this is a possibility, with the game is in Beta stage, I understand as to why its not getting a new splash screen but if we could have a file that is transparent that MUST overlay any designed page for now, that would be awesome. I for one would like to let my friends play a test run of the game and have my own custom splash screen in place with the option of the editor removed to reduce the file size. . . . .

Right now the splash is there as a way to inform you that the resulting standalone is VERY MUCH a beta version and should be viewed as such. Eventually this splash image will be customizable just like every other aspect of the engine. My hope is that you can change 'every pixel' of your game so that no-one will know it was created with Reloaded. I am happy to make our policy on the 'Made In Reloaded' logo/text will be the same as FPSC Classic and entirely optional, but I still have to raise this at an official TGC meeting to make sure I'm not promising ourselves out of a good way to market the engine and inform potential future users. I am sure some middle ground exists on this subject

well I would be happy to have the reloaded splash there at game release (if I ever get 1 to that point lol) but also I would like to have my own game and such splash screens added after it.

maybe it could be worked that you have an expandable/editable list of links for splash screens to be seen, this would possibly give a way to replace the standard reloaded splash with 1 or more of our own?. maybe a tick box for the reloaded and link options for others or something like that lol, im sure tgc knows more about it than me haha.

I am sure there will be some sort of staging builder where you can decide the opening sequence to your game, then the title page design and launch options, e.t.c. I think we are some way from that discussion
