Hey all,

I have installed the FPS Creator Reloaded and it is working great for a beta. However, none of the weapons appear in a physical form in my game and I only see the aim. I was wondering if anyone else may have had the same problem and how to fix it. I checked the forums but I could not find anything similar addressed. Thank you.

Hi,

As drewtaylorr stated, a complete uninstall and a fresh install should fix this issue. Remember, when uninstalling it's important to back up any non-Reloaded media before starting.

Hey. Thank you both for the advice. I had reinstalled the program several times but the weapon still does not seem to appear which is a shame since everything else renders perfectly to the highest detail and it looks pretty at this early stage.

Load the run to the river level and then go and collect the sniper rifle from the back of the tent, then take a snapshot of what you see, and share it here. We can then get a feel for the issue as it's something I have not seen before..also show a second shot with all the performance metric showing (including the slider panels). Cheers!!

@Robby.

Thanks for the images.

Could you please confirm the version of Reloaded you're using, as I note from your metrics that your level is set to use Ice and Brown grass, but is showing desert and green grass. I ask, as if I recall correctly,

Hey. First, thank you for taking the time to provide me with such a rigid advice. I had changed all of the settings to lowest, reinstalled the program, changed the terrain type but, unfortunately, none of this helps. I do not think that the problem is with the video card. While it is a several years old card, everything else runs smoothly at medium to high settings which is even better than my FPSC X10. I had included an image of the new metrics as well.

Robby,

When Lee suggested going to the back of the tent and collecting the Sniper Rifle and taking a screen shot - your images attached do not show that location at the back of the tent?

Can you grab a screen shot of the Table at the back of the tent where the Rifle should be seen? Does the Sniper rifle exist (show up) there at all?

If not have you tried placing (adding ) a new weapon and check to see if it firstly displays and can be seen in the editor window. If you can see it in the editor then that's a start. It should therefore be in the level when you test run it so you can physically see it and collect it.

If you cant see a weapon placed in editor then clearly its unlikely to actually be physically being loaded/created at all.

I would suggest that if that is unsuccessful in helping then you could try starting from scratch by creating a simple Flat Terrain Level. Add a player start marker. Then add a weapon in editor. In fact try adding one of all types of available weapons and see if any of them actually show up in editor. (presuming they all in fact exist in the weapons folder). Make sure all the weapons are placed somewhere near the player where you can easily find them in the level.

When placing weapons - zoom in closely so you can see easily find/see them and make sure they are placed above ground (terrain level).

Add one other object like a simple static box as a marker if you like so you know where the weapons should be approximately. Place one on top of the box also may be a good idea so it cant fall below the terrain.

Lastly does the player have a weapon attached to himself to start the level. If not try editing the player marker (right click in editor) and give the player a weapon to start the level with.

Now having said all that if you cant actually see any weapons in the editor window when you place them in your level then the rest I guess is of little use of course as clearly the weapons are not being found/loaded/displaying by Reloaded at all so I cant help there at all I am afraid. (presuming of course as said they do exist in the Reloaded install directories?)

Presumably you may already have done all of that? Have you tried deleting all the .dbo and .bin files from the entities weapons directory location? If not that may help - exit/shut down Reloaded first if you try that and make sure you make a backup of the said weapons folder before deleting anything or don't do it at all.

Hi,

I think the problem is as I stated at the end of my post and as Uman and james1943 have also suggested one of the ,dbo and .bin files. These have caused problems in some betas. The issue is fixed for the next beta, but for the meantime you'll need a workaround.

Close down Reloaded

Navigate to the folder at this path (Assuming you've used the default install).

C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators\FPS Creator Reloaded\Files\entitybank\Weapons

Make a copy of the folder (just in case).

Manually delete any file in the orginal folder that ends with the suffix .bin or .dbo

Restart Reloaded and try again.

That should fix the problem, please let me known if this helps.

Did the deletion of DBP/BIN files solve the problem? As UMAN stated, I really need to see the shot where you are looking down at the table behind the tent so I can see the sniper rifle before you collect it, and then after you collect it. Sorry to be a pain, but bug reproduction has never been a delicate art and often involves LOTS of repeat and rinse exercises.
