Which programs will be the best to use when modeling for FPSCR? My biggest worry is compatibility between generations.

Thanks in advanced!

I use 3D Studio Max, but it is my understanding most model artist in the community are using Blender (which is completely free) and just as powerful and more easy to use.

I also use 3ds Max. I started with 3dWings for a month, moved on to Blender which I just couldn't get on with, but I know many do.

For me Max was the easiest to use out of all of them, but it's not free like the others mentioned above.

At the end of the day it's about choosing a package that's right for you.

I use photoshop for texturing as well and a couple plug-ins to help generate different types of maps like normal, specular...etc.

As a newbie at modelling I find Milkshape easy to use with great results and compatibility including the ability to resize the model when exporting. I also use Photoshop and CrazyBump for texturing.

I've got something to say
