Here is my first ever model. I have been playing around with FPSCR for a while

now so decide to have a go at making my own model and here it is. It took me a while to get to grips with mapping the texture onto the model but I think I am ready to have a go at bigger and better things now.

Thanks for looking.

I've got something to say

No I used the rock as a prop, it is just the sword.

Pretty good for a first model! If you want to create a photorealistic effect, start to use maps.

Do you mean UV Mapping, Because I thought I had done this. I created an image with all the textures on it and then mapped that to the 3D object. Now I didn't do any thing with the Diffuse or Specular but I am not sure what to do there.

If anyone can explain the process I would appreciate it.

If this is not what you mean then I would also appreciate you telling me what using maps is.

Thanks for the advice.

Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W07H7xeUnGE

Yeah I'm talking about Normal mapping, and specular map. It's easy to get your hands on it. I suggest using CrazyBump software demo. Watch the video first and you'll get much more information.

Cheers
