anyone else have the failure when he drag a pistol and run over a other weapon like a shotgun or uzi and nothing happen?? the weapon on the floor is away but i dont have it.





ahh it seems like it save the weapon whitch one i wear at last.

so when i grab a sniper gun in test level pressed escape return to main editor and try to start again i have the sniper gun again from beginning on. dont need to take it.



the bug for other weapons still here.

It worked ok for me went from the 45 to the shotgun

It's not so much a bug as a feature not fully realised. If you look at the SETUP.INI file you will find this at the bottom:



[WEAPONS]

slot1=modern\colt1911

slot2=modern\Magnum357

slot3=modern\RPG

slot4=modern\Shotgun

slot5=modern\sniper m700

slot6=modern\Uzi

slot7=legacy\law

slot8=legacy\uzi

slot9=legacy\mossberg



It basically pre-decides where the weapons will be placed, and you can switch to that weapon when you press [1] through [9]. If you delete the above section from the INI file, the weapon will be placed in the first available slot, i.e. [1] then [2] then [3]. Eventually I am moving such vital controls out of low level INI files and into the main editing IDE so you can quickly adjust these defaults.

I'd love the ability to have the option to make it so the player has to press an action button when looking directly at the weapon - in order to pick it up.

Does everyone agree with this, that is, the default is that you need to directly look at a weapon, it will highlight, and then display a prompt, and when the key is pressed, the weapon is collected. Obviously we will have both, just curious what the majority thinks should be the default state?

I think the default state should be simply running over the weapon to pick it up.



Then if you want to change the default, you can set it to use an action key (and presumably set the *default* action key to use) which I would hope eventually could be "player defined" as in allowing players of your game to set their own hotkeys.



So if you want to "set" <action key required> you can define the default but still allow your players to change "their" hotkey for it.

I am getting the same issue as the OP. The first weapon I get in game comes up fine. Animations and all. Yet when I pick up another weapon it just disappears. Nothing on mouse wheel, nothing in 1-9.(did this with 1911 and uzi) When I exit 'Test Level' mode and then go back in I then start with whatever weapon I picked up first. It also wouldn't let me pick up anything else. I exited the program, loaded back in and I could pick up another gun, but the bug still occurs. With whatever weapon I pick up first. Even if I do a standalone.(I tried picking the uzi up first and it was fine but started with it the next 'Test Level' and couldn't pick anything else up, then had same issue with the 1911)

You could have the default be the standard, run over the item/weapon and pick it up. When your inventory is full (say 5 weapons), then you could have the interactive icon pop up that will replace the weapon you currently hold, with the weapon on the ground/table/etc.
