How difficult would it be to implement a V.A.T.S-like strategic combat system as an add-on combat module?

The ability to pause the game, switch between enemies in your line of sight, target a specific enemy and see the statistical probability of hitting a certain part of the enemy and the % damage that would be inflicted (based on armour, cover, distance, player weapon used, etc.) similar to Fallout 3/ Fallout New Vegas / old-school RPG's and to a lesser extent, Dragon Age: Origins; allowing strategy and cinematics.







I'd love to see something like this, especially for strategic combat and RPG title development.

Its a great idea and all, but it could really only be used for a specific type of game. Really an Engine should provide the tools to make it, and then you have to code it in, which will be possible in lua,(I think).

Sorry to say we are FAR too early in development for anything like that. However, since certain scripts will require knowing the names of each limb it might be possible in the future.



Bad sad to say, this is all stuff we won't see till we start moving into the scripting direction with Reloaded.
