I am looking forward to seeing some great game effects

come into the creator like smoke that could be added to

fires or crashed car models and then have the ability to

change the density of the smoke so if it is a minor scene

light smoke, or if the scene is a plane crash have dense

thick smoke, and of course the colour of the smoke this could also

come into play for smoke grenades, or signal flairs.

and another awesome effect along the similar lines would be fire

or flame depending on the scenario and possible have in the property

of the fire / flame that it would emit its own smoke based on

the fires intensity.

please feel free to post some anticipated features this might help

the programmers get a bit of a idea as to what we are looking fwd to

Is the editor going to have the ability to have a 4 window view

so that we can see top down/left/right/front so we can add objects under items

like cross arms under bridges?

I have not been a fan of the four window approach, and prefer the likes of TrueSpace with a single window plus gadgets. I am also tinkering with the idea of a picture-in-picture gadget so you can keep top-down but have the perspective to see where it sits in profile or 2.5D angle. As I work on more detailed levels, I am finding the lack of this extra viewpoint increasingly irksome, which means the solution is closer than you might think.

Trying to position a tree from the top-down is realy hard, you realy need to be able to look as the player looks.I find i am building, looking ,building looking.if we had a player view while editing this would be cool .

A 3D view in the editor would be ideal, where you can rotate the terrain / view as well as tilt and pan.

Another feature that I would really like to see in the future would be

the option for customers games to have the ability to have a 3rd person

camera perspective even if you gave the creator the option before he/she compiled there game,

this could give the creators the option to have a game solely 3rd person

give them the option to toggle between 1st and 3rd or even have a mouse

scroll in and out between the two

Mostly, I'm hoping for a smooth option in terrain mode and/or the ability to import/export height maps. Any chance of that happening?

Being a truespace guy, I love using widgets to control 3d camera position. It would also be cool if we could have a visible bound box on the selected entity with widgets for size, position and rotation. Plus, you could right click the selected entity to open the fpe editor. Another reason I like this idea is it presents the possibility of world editing with an oculus rift headset, like a god flying around, moving mountains, redirecting rivers, painting in forestation. I can see a world editor that is more fun to use than the games it produces.

The Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK) editor (for fallout) has a great camera handler. It starts you off with top-down but pressing down the mouse-wheel will allow you scroll your view on the Z-Axis.

I don't have any way of placing items on parts of another if they have over-hanging limbs to them in Reloaded. Can be frustrating. Experienced the same issue in FPSC-Classic as well. You basically have to make sure you start from the ground up or else you have to move everything around again which is far to tedious.

By the way, isn't there already a feature request section of the forums?

best editor in game I ever used was in neverwinter nights 1, it was awesome easy to understand and use to create very big maps and transitions to other maps inside and out. I hope for this product to be very similar in ease of use and ability to do the things we all want without problems, cant wait for those final days before real finished product ...

have fun stay safe

I don't care how many windows we have as long as we are able to view the scene from a variety of well defined viewpoints. The present arrangement makes precise positioning of things like wall segments incredibly difficult. In addition, if you run the test game and realise you need to make a small adjustment, correcting the entity's position is awkward since it reverts to the default position when you select it in the editor. Placed entities should remain where they were when selected so that you can make small adjustments.

Yes, the current Editor actually s*cks. But ok, it´s still Beta.

In fact it´s the most basic editor I ever have seen.

I really hope for decent 3D view, so you can determine terrain height etc.

Also a couple of different brushes is a must have in todays map making.

When clicking on objects you can get a decent 3D view, BUT is soooooo slow and it does not work on terrain - only objects.

There´s a lot to wish for in the editor

I can see some good points there Steohl72 I think that

the engine has a lot of potential but it does need refining and it does need work but just like you have pointed out that you can go 3d view on a object

I think that if you had a window in 3d view you could see how high you are making you mountains and canyons passes without having to load the game every 5min and fill you memory up only to have it overload and realise that you

haven't saved and that you have to do it all again lol

wondering what the chances are about getting a tool/button added

that would make a gradual incline / decline in the terrain between two points

so if you wanted to make a path up a hill. I.E picture below

hopefully one of the game devs see this and like the idea

I think that at the moment Reloaded is far to organic and almost random. There is no way to perniciously build your map. No grid, no snapping, and no way to see what your doing from any other angle.

The grid is in there even though there is no visual on it. Press 'b' once for small increments and twice for 100x100 snap.
