Hi folks,

ANIMER is updated to work with FPSC reloaded characters that has three levels of LOD. This update will not be released just yet.

Rafhalzer is also working on another product that might be of interest to those who own a lot of FPSC model packs.

Sorry for the confusion. It's not thoroughly tested as yet. Until it is then he will release it as an update.

His new project, however, will not be a part of ANIMER.

ANIMER 2.2 FRR (FPSC Reloaded Ready) will be released in the first half of March.

You will be able to import animations from FPSC Reloaded character to any character in .x or .dbo format. Finally you will receive the .x file fully compatible with FPSC Reloaded.

If you want to add the LOD system to your 3D model, you will need my new application 'LOD Generator'. Of course you can do it yourself in any 3D editor - you need to decimate mesh and export .x file with three meshes:

LOD_0 - high level of details

LOD_1 - medium level of details

LOD_2 - low level of details

The corresponding mesh will be shown in FPSCR depending on the distance from the camera.

Animated and static models can work in FPSC Reloaded without LOD system, but if you use it, the computer can work faster.

'LOD Generator' will be released a little later than ANIMER, I don't know exactly when. I'm working on beta version, if it will be ready, FLATLANDER must test it.

Out of curiousity how does the LOD system work in Reloaded? Is it something like the following?

Building_LOD_0.x

Building_LOD_2.x

Building_LOD_3.x

like does Reloaded detect for LOD_#.X in the filename?

There is only one file with 3D model, for example 'Building.x'

There are three limbs (bones) with the mesh in this 3D model.

The limbs are called: LOD_0, LOD_1 and LOD_2.

The mesh of the limb LOD_0 has a highest number of faces, LOD_1 has a medium number of faces and LOD_2 has a low number of faces.

Depending on the camera distance, FPSC Reloaded shows and hides the corresponding limbs in 3D model. For example, if a distance is large, Reloaded shows LOD_2 limb and hides LOD_0 and LOD_1 limb in 3D model.

No. It\'s just one x file. All 3 levels of detail are combined.

Highest poly mesh is named LOD_0

Mid poly is named LOD_1

Low poly is named LOD_2

All 3 lods are loaded at the same time. The engine knows which one to display by placing this in the fpe file.

;LOD System

disablebatch = 1

lod1distance = 400

lod2distance = 600

Right between collision mode and statistics seems to work well.

Not sure if the distances are adjustable yet.

Edit: @ Rafhalzer you posted while I was typing lol.

Well looks like I'll be getting this also.

If it guarantees to import and export the Reloaded character animations and creates the LOD meshes this is basically an essential purchase.

Ideally this should be incorporated into the product itself!

Thanks guys for your interest and support.

I work hard and I think that I can meet the deadline - 15 March.

However, not all appreciate my work, a few characters from the classic FPSC tried to kill me - I think they don't like what I'm doing

You can see it on this video
