I really think FPSCR needs and "X" and "Y" axis view built into the terrain editor - right now the only view is the "Z" view. While functional - it is very hard to "really" see the effect of designing your terrain unless you can view the level in an "X" & "Y" axis manner. Right now - It is hard to see the length/width of the changes you are making without making them - then testing the level - this is very "trial and error" oriented and time consuming.

I wish.

Sadly this feature has been rejected early on in development and they are sticking with the top-down editing mode and 3D fly-mode editing via F9.

We need more precise editing tools in Reloaded. At the moment it functions like some kind of children's sandbox or Minecraft.

I really was dying to see something more than just top-view and fly-mode. Its great for demonstrating quick level creation but with honesty I would like the ability to actually focus on what I'm doing more precisely, rather than randomly planting objects all over the place. Its going to be VERY difficult to create cluttered rooms with important items in a well thought out, well designed area.

Once we get the construction kit however, this may solve a lot of our issues.

The need for this is readily evident when simply trying to place fence segments at right angles. You can't snap them properly, and freehanding it just sucks!

BUMP* AGAIN. Its essential to every game maker to be able to have a different view and since the conkit has been shelved for the time being, this should be a decent fix. I can add anything to a room as I cant see into it. I cant set the height of anything with out several tries and a bunch of irritation in a room if I can even see into the room by zooming into it. Come on DEVS, help us out here a little bit. Surely 1 person could be spared from the apparent small team to work on this, yes?

I mean, several threads mention this, its apparent its something we want and need.

AND, why does the mailback feature not work? Isnt there an option to subscribe to threads so that you get a notice of recent comments? I have it on my own website. FYI, I have my mailback address set in my CP.

EDIT: I just checked my mailback address. I set it once how ever, it was gone. I just reset it so hopefully, it works this time!

It seems they rejected the idea of 4 different screens but to straight out reject it even though people want it seems wrong.

My vote has been casted for this.

I have to agree with everyone here. Trying to place entities inside or under another is a really pain, even in the in game editing mode. Have the different views would make game creation a lot easier, and even more professional

A good example of why this is really needed is the Market stalls. (the legacy pack) You can put them down but goodluck trying to put any fruits or items on under the tent. The zoom stops at the top of the tent so you cannot ever place anything.

Any conformation on getting this done Lee? Seems we have enough asking for it. Given you want everyones feedback before deciding to permit a feature, here is more than enough reason to add it.

OMG TATTIE, man I wanted to scream and had a flash back! LMAO, yes boys and girls, it's that exactly. Yes snapping would help but only of you need those parts where the grid is and not half way in between. NOW, Ahow what happens when you try to pick up something inside. LOL,

I am casting my vote here as well. Why would a feature be rejected that everyone wants and every other editor has as its basic functionality? The editor for FPSCR is the worst of any editor I have ever seen. I think this product could be great, but not until TGC gets serious about giving us a real editor. This top down editing is useful for some things, but is absolutely horrible for most real editing. The F9 fly mode is a joke. We don't need that and never have. We need perspective view editing with transformation widgets and direct access to an objects properties for precise positioning.

Please make this a priority. I have to say that it makes me sad when I see blog posts about work being done on improving the look of the normal map shader when we don't even have a decent editor or the ability to access an entity's properties from scripting. Why are the priorities so mixed up for this product?
