Entity Import Wizard App needed. is it a good idea?

to help diagnose problems with Non-TGC Imported 3D entitys.

like entitys made with blender or made for other game engines.

Options

let you set the entity Group Type- is this a Weapon? Scenery? Building? Furnitur? or Character?

App checks entity sub folders & scrips for-

entity Animation test.

entity texture test.

entity sound test.

entity size mapping test (the scale of the entity) in a Reloaded game.

will the entity fit in to the World under its new name?

entity File size test.

entity Copyright Info- checks for DRM.

checks for invalid or missing File types of the entity.

Will Entity support Full texture mapping? Yes. or No.

Will Entity work or run in FPSC Reloaded? Yes. or No.

can fix sum problems, like invalid code in .X files.

folder Setup Wizard

batch file placement to FPSR folder locations for New entity with new thumbnail image.

the generation of thumbnail image for new entity.

lets you place the entity in FPSC Reloaded Files library under a Group with a Title or Name.

the generation of Library Data Log file of entity Imports.

Add or Remove

UnDo entity: Can remove entity file set from "FPS Creator Reloaded Files library.

useing the Wizard's own Import Data Log file.

is this a good idea? & will it work? if So, who will make it? the cost?

B creative & have Fun.

I can let you into a little secret that we have not only started thinking about such a feature, but have someone tinkering about with a prototype that will provide this very function. Early early days yet, but we have listened and are acting on information received P.S. Lee will 'not' be writing the importer!

Send me the model in question and I will forward it to the person responsible. Multi-material models however will NEVER be supported (that is, a single mesh sub-divided into a table of individual polygons assigned to material indices) It's the most inefficient way to render a 3D shape I have ever seen (after DirectX Retained Mode that is)!
