Hi All,

As a lot of users are having issues trying to use old media with Reloaded, I think it's worth clarifying a couple of issues.

Legacy media currently is only partically supported.

Static entities will in general now work, but there is currently no support for dynamic entites, legacy characters or most weapons.

Default reloaded shaders are now supported.

Shadows will be generated.

Old media has no LOD added, and so will use more polys than official Reloaded media.

I'll keep this thread updated, and more information comes to light.

Scene Commander, I, love Reloaded, however we have to be able to use the thousands upon thousands of models we all have that will make Reloaded a great tool.

ok, so we need a tool to add LOD and re do the animation so they work in Reloaded.

Also what needs to be done to get the static models to work right in Reloaded?

We need a tool similar to

ModelConverterX is a direct x tool.

@Meows,

There will eventually be full support for legacy packs, but I can't give a timeframe. I'll keep the first post updated as more support is added.

hi all when i get chance i will try some conversions of models from existing packs,

As a long time ago I used another game engine that used the bullet physics and had simuler problems when using .X format and so I converted some to collada format and all was ok. but they then updated the .X DLL and so I was Ok again using .X files

So maybe its The .X support.

not 100% sure but only going on from what i remember.

FWIW, I wouldn't consider lack of LOD to be much of an issue with older media.
Most X9 stuff is probably equivalent to LOD_01 or LOD_02 complexity.
New, LOD-enabled media is generally going to use more polys not less.
