I have an Oculus Rift and am jumping for joy with the recent news. If I can help in any way - please count me in!!!

Please note I have also posted on the official Oculus Rift forum linking to the news here regarding the potential support with OR.

Can we please concentrate on Core things and getting a complete, fully working, stable product with important game making features in place first before the futuristic fancy stuff which would be nice to have but not critical to game making?

I know TGC like their eye candy to have a seeming priority over almost everything else.

Can we get the previously considered Pro type advanced Character and Enemy intelligence system working and in place so we can show Reloaded to be worthy of Pro First Person shooter status? Seems like that could do with a great deal of serious work yet to bring it up to a standard superior to FPSC Classic leave alone anything like Pro status.

I agree with Uman. Core first, fancy later - or else you soon will be loosing users.

It nice to have visions and ambitions, as long as it does not interfere with the focus on quality

Hi, fear not, we have been focused on the core issues (mainly optimisations!) We will not be diverting off on some crazy new tech support. There's a lot fixed in the up and coming Friday Beta.

Oculus Rift is important and it's a great match with Reloaded. Make your own worlds and walk around them in complete VR. Lee does not think it will take long to support it too.

I am not against it (Rift) you know that. I am for everything lets have it all if we can.

Personally I am happy to be able to make a game proper at all successfully first and foremost. That would be a good start. For that I can manage with a computer monitor.

However I like most would also like to be able have all and any bells and whistles and New Tech support too as well as old tech support like more deployment platforms.

Windows and my monitor will do to start while Reloaded is being developed so I can get on and start to make a game first.

I can see numerous potential uses for Rift so I am not against it as said not that I will benefit from it perhaps but I am sure there are many that will and I guess it would be good for the product too no doubt.

Actually; the Occulus may have a place in a potential future dev that I have in mind. But it's a WAY down the road thing...

All I can say is that until you actually have an opportunity to try the Rift, you will not understand how much it is going to change things. The old thinking of VR is no longer applicable... the Rift is the ultimate window into experiencing your game. That being said, unless things are done correctly - frame rate, full body awareness, character size, etc there will be issues. Definitely not a key priority on the list of things to do at the moment, however it will be a huge opportunity down the road, and a great opportunity for Reloaded.

I agree with Uman as well. Rift would be a nice option in the future, but I would rather be able to build a game that works like it should. Stick to the CORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No amount of features/options/bells/whistles/garnish/eye candy/etc. is going to mean a thing without a proper working stable core.

Yeah, stick to the core of the game engine and make sure they are working to its full potential first. Plus I'm not a fan of the rift myself so I'll never even use it.

yes can we get water and all the swimming and basically a world where the silver surfer as not changed the molecular structure of liquid please, that should not take long yet it is doing.

i paid for a world creator not a rift device. sort the basics and prioritise the correct way

and make the world work before rich kids devices get attention.

WE CAN'T EVEN SWIM YET!

an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!

Just spoken to Lee and tried his latest version. He's fixed 90% of the issues I had with the morning Beta. Now he has a few bugs that are a bit odd. An image not loading error, why characters some times don't die when you shoot them and a vertex animation issue. I'm calling him again at 7pm GMT to see how he's got on by then. So fingers crossed and we will release the build later tonight.

We now have a random terrain or flat terrain mode when you do new game. The random terrain creates some amazing vistas! Lots more we can do with this later on too.

I guess as soon as the new beta is confirmed there will be an almighty rush for it and no-one will be able to download it.

That's why I want to be first in the queue.

{Oh no! It's my turn to sort out supper. It'll be just my luck that the download becomes available then and the ether will be full of downloading enthusiasts by the time I see the link. ]

You almost made me spit out my coffee, you bastard!

Good to hear Rick; screenshot given looks more natural. Flat or random terrains are a good idea. Might I add the ability to either cycle back through random terrains that were generated (in case you saw one that you weren't sure you wanted at first), like an undo feature. Either that, or a temporary cache system that is purged, once you settle on (save) a random terrain? Just a thought.

Yes, the new screenshot looks great! Much more realistic shapes.

Is that just a random created landscape? Have we as users the same tool for creating this? (I´m thinking the sharp edges).

The landscape has been created by New Random Level. We will need to create some extra tool that can do this too.
