Do you mean the
C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2007)\Utilities\Bin\x86\DXViewer.exe utility? seems strange you don't have it.

I have the compiled version, but not the source. I forget where I got it from... I have the November 2008 SDK and it's not in there.

Would you like me to attach it?

I'm not sure why you'd want it, it's total rubbish. Of the few .x models I have gotten it to load, it usually has texture info all messed up. Can't use shaders either like it says it can do.

I exported a total of about 30 models from Milkshape the other day, all of which rendered in DGDK just fine, and the DXMeshView gave me an error with the ones I tried to open with it.

Rubbish...

I now i try doing stuf whit exe of Meshview i didnt now nothing but how to create a default shape, by the way i prefere maya not milkshape.
but the reson i want the source of meshwiev is to take a look at some modeling software source, maybe to make my own simple map Editor, for my game.(just the basic object positining, and stuf like that.)

It's called MeshView for a reason. You don't actually model with it.

But why is there DirectX Viever.

And can you export .x files and insert default shapes.

It's just useful for optimizing the mesh, computing the mesh's normals, welding vertices, etc.
