Hi all! Is there a way to change the position of the sun? I tried to change setting in the "Skyspec.txt" , but the shadows always fall exactly the same...

Open the skyspec.txt file in the skybank folder you are using.

Change this line to your values.
SunDirection = 100,100,100

Equates to
SunDirection = x,y,z position

But Not sure if this will change the shadows direction, I believe it just rotates the sky so you can line up your sun with the shadows.

This is still very much a WIP feature.

Hi @ololo_11, the only values that work in skyspec file currently are
SunColor: this will affect the terrain color.
SunRotation: this will of course rotate the skybox to the given setting.

SunDirection and SunStrength do nothing at all at present.

All you can do at the moment is set the SunRotation value so that the shadows fall in line with the position of the sun in your skybox, and this of course limits the position you place the sun when developing any skybox media. However the shadows will always fall in same direction and will always be the same length.

This is something that should be addressed as a bug imo - not a feature - since it will require all skyboxes to be updated in the future when all properties in the skyspec file are implemented.

Yes, the SunDirection will not change the position of the sun or the direction the sun shadow is cast from and is a hard coded value right now. It was disabled as we saw a LOT of strange artefacts as the shadow moved about. I will be re-instating this when the new DirectX 11 conversion begins which will have a much better shadow system, which of course will be required for a proper day/night cycle system (and custom sky dynamics).
