Added to the store - a collection of flying insects. Available individually or as a pack (although I don't see the pack in the store yet, hopefully it will appear soon). Includes a wasp, bee, dragonfly and 4 low poly butterflies (the was, bee and dragonfly have a second LOD). The wasp and bee are scripted to attack if you get too close, while the dragonfly and butterflies are scripted to fly around in a (hopefully) realistic fashion (thanks smallg for helping with the script).
Edit : There is no sound file included in the pack, although provision is made in the fpe file and the script. The sound I used came from here http://soundjax.com/wasp-1.html - name it wasp.wav and add it to your audiobank/misc folder.

Very nice Gtox, this should add some realism to a countryside level.

Thanks Mookai & mguy1122. The challenge isn't so much creating models, but creating reasonable behaviour scripts. I'm starting to get the hang of it, though, so I'll work on some more wildlife. Birds should be fairly easy to do.

Thanks all - smallg has been playing around with the script, and has worked it so that the bees fly around flowers - the results look pretty good. I've said he can release the script here (it has some of my original code), so hopefully that appears soon.
edit : smallg has posted a video of his script in action on his 'some example scripts for ideas' thread.

indeed gtox these bugs are awesome
just had to tidy the script a little, get a new video up and tweak the settings some - i felt this one would be safer without giving too much modification via settings but i'm sure many of you can work it out if you need to change it - but i'm always happy to help if not.

now the scripts
you need to apply this 1 to all the bees (note the bees aren't scaled so you will need to scale those yourself (scaling in the script didn't make them small enough for my liking so i left it out otherwise it would overwrite any scale changes you made)
bee.lua (edit: fixed a possible bug)

and a basic script to give to the flowers, this is simply to tell the bees that it is a flower but it does scale the flowers a bit bigger
flower.lua

edit: new video to add to the showcase of all the bugs

I am busy with birds of prey, but my PC is playing up and I'm waiting on some new RAM before I can continue (I'm stuck with a laptop for the moment). Once I've done the birds I'll do some small reptiles.

If anyone wants the bees and wasps to be killable, I've modified the fpe files and created a new script, which should do the trick . Download and unzip the attached file, add the two fpe files & bmp files to the folder containing the insects, and copy the insectflyingdeath.lua file into the scriptbank.
