¡UPDATED!

Now works with Firespot!!! The gun is in the correct hand of the converted character now. The results are just like animer, but FREE!

Hi, I will show you how to import FPSC Classic/custom characters in Reloaded, in a few minutes and free. Ragdoll and new animation work!

(Note: Only biped characters work)

Tools used in this tutorial:

Fragmotion (free trial) Download in the official web page

Mender 2.1 BETA 4, other versions don't work (Totally free) Download in the original post

Updated tutorial, with the converted character in action:

I hope you find this tutorial useful, thanks.

Great work! Thanks for sharing.

I will happily try this when I get home.

This might work to get custom characters to work!

Cheers

Jay.

Not too bad but think firespot needs to be changed too? The gun is in the wrong hand of the converted character. Animer lets you do this switch. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and share.

I'm pretty sure it can be used in both commercial and non-commercial.

I will shortly explain how to change the FIRESPOT in 1 minute. It's as easy as animer, but free.

I think that zombies don't work with the Reloaded animations. If I'm not mistaken Lee is working on zombies characters for 1.009. Mi dispiace.

Edit: I have been working on zombies and I have promising results. PM to you Bisella!

I think that's a side effect of the ragdoll

Also, are you sure to use a commas instead of dots? if I use all commas the gun floats way out to the side.
If I use dots in the second set of boxes the char holds the gun.

Are you using a custom character or one of x9?

Be sure that you selected "Local" when you are editing the Firespot

I have never used this method, I have used Mender and Animer, but even the newest version of Mender hasn't worked right for me as far as the ragdoll goes, in fact, it hasn't worked on any classic character I've tried. (I only tried a few, though, I just assumed they may have had the wrong skeleton). As for punctuation, I think in some languages the comma is used as a decimal point so that may be local to his machine (a comma on my machine would make thousands, not a decimal place, putting the gun quite a ways away!). The latest thing I've converted was one of the crusaders. The ragdoll still affects the deaths but it doesn't seem as pronounced as in other characters. Kinda funny seeing one of these guys with a handgun, so I thought it'd only be fair to convert the old crossbow and give him a fighting chance!

I think someone may have a solution for this, but I just gave up for now. The new beta is supposed to give us more flexibility with characters anyway, so I'm sure a new Mender is on it's way.

x9 chars 1 x10 char, cyblob.

I did this and the gun showed up along ways off. Using a decimal it looked better till he died. lol

I found that if I use the decimal rather than the comma, it works as it should. Still no dice on cyblob though. Thanks for all your hard work in figuring this all out. Have a beer on me. or six.

Use Coma Just for those who have italian or latin in the OS locale language,

all others (english or us) use the dots only.

If you're referring to the crossbow in my picture, I converted the old crossbow from FPSC Classic. I tried the oil bombs in the last beta but there were some things I couldn't figure out so I couldn't get them to work. (Maybe it wasn't even possible yet in 1.0085) Now that we have hand grenades, though, I may be able to see how they work and get something working. I'm off ALL next week with only ONE real obligation! I will actually have time to sit down and work through a lot of the things that I've been wanting to do! Can't wait!

I just thought about it. What will probably end up happening is I'll get stuck on one thing and obsess about it all week and in the end be no better off than I am now! LOL

Unfortunately I can't share the actual crossbow; that would violate the license on the media, but there is nothing in the licensing that prevents me from telling how I did it! I did a little write-up on it in another thread somewhere. I don't remember exactly where that was, but I will look for it and get back to you. I will post a link here when I find it. If you have any questions, just ask here or PM me. (I'm not very good at explaining things, and I wrote it quite some time after I actually DID it, so I was simply comparing the original with what I came up with, and kinda drawing my own conclusions from that)

EDIT: Found it right away! http://fpscrforum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=210167&b=25

One of the animations don't work quite right, but the functionality is there!
