Does anyone know a .dds plugin for GIMP?



Its irritating having to use paint.NET and other third party programs as well.

Just save them as whatever format you feel is best...TGA is good...It wont matter....Once run in reloaded it converts them to DDS automatically so you just delete the TGA,s after



Assuming your talking about models of course ?

this will work however it seems to half the size of the original file so you lose some quality in your texture

Thanks Henry...I was unaware of that .....That does solve something I was confused about on my model

i downloaded normalmap and the dds converter plugin. now does anyone have an idea why i can't open all DDS files ?
f.e. i can open the medival dds files but i can't open the asylum dds files. some files work, some don't and i have no idea why gimp is so choosy.

@Tommy8, you can go to the GIMP repository and get the dds plug in.

@Nuncio, you wont be able to open any that are encrypted, that resided in the standalone builds.

Is that the case with you?
