Hi!

I translated another, yet very small Tutorial. Last time, I showed you guys how you can have flashing ghost sights, Now its time to show how I made the glowing ghosts in my former Project.

Well, its pretty easy and you do not need a mod for this. All you need to do is turning your shader effects on (in the preferences).

Now you need the shader file. I attached the download to this post, so you do not need to download the whole shader folder. I only want to clarify that the shader is out of the Ultimat Shader Pack

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=79849&b=8

Alright. Now, copy the .fx file anywhere in your effectbank. After that, you can open the FPSCreator and choose a character on your map. Bond 1`s Mummys out of the Egyptian Pack are perfect for this. (I would suggest to add creapier sounds to them and place em in dark corners, as I did.) Please do not use Rolfy`s Spiders. This will look hilarious (whats a glowing ghost spider anyway?!)

Note: With a bit tuning, you can have burning Zombies with this. ... Never tried it but it would be a possibilitie.

Ok, never mind. Right Click on the chosen character and select the shader using the "effect" line.

Thats all.

You know can run your game and test it.

A few last notes: The Shader will only work in lit areas. (Perfect for things coming out of the dark) The shader may slow down your performance. Use trigger Zones to spawn your enemys. Anything else is bad.

You can modify the colors of the shaders

you can open the shader with the editor.
Quote: "
float4 FurColor = {0.32f, 0.17f, 0.021f, 1.0f};
float FurHeight = 0.3f;
float4 LightPosition = {0.0f, 50.0f, -100.0f, 1.0f};
float4 LightColor = {1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f};
float LightRange = 125.0f;
float4 Ambient = {0.3f, 0.3f, 0.3f, 1.0f};
float U = 1.0f;
float V = 1.0f;
"

With the lines callen Color and Ambient, you can do modifications in the coloring. I`m no expert and I would`nt suggest you to do it without knowing basics about the colorcodes etc.

That's awesome man, thanks for this

Hey, I was checking out that link which you provided to the
Ultimate Shader pack, and I was wondering if any of those other
shaders are able to work in FPSC?
Because it says that the pack is a compiled group of DarkBasic
shaders.

@SanXl: Turning this Shader on, after a Fire Spell has been cast on a charackter would be awesome. I wonder if that would work

@Braden 713: Not all of them are useable. Some need additional Textures, some cause crashes. Up to you to find out.

You know the Bathroom Mirror in my current Project? It uses the "Gloss" Shader out of the Pack.

BTW: Checking the DBPro Corner and/or Modding sites is always usefull

@Wolf:

You may want to edit your image for "bad language" as this is a public board.

The pics looked good, though the white ghosts looked like it just had some serious bloom problems.
