Cannot start correctly
Help! The last few months updates install correctly but the game refuses to start. Same story with just basic fiiles installed. Gives an 0x2000007b error - whatever that may be. (Note-I'm 84 and not all that knowledgeable about PC'c any more)/

@ Grandpamike
Assume you are talking about Game>Guru Max, if so, can you realize a bit, please?
a- What game are you referring to?
b- Can you post a shot about the error message?
c- Can you please post here the GGMax version are you using? Are you up to date?

It looks like something that should be reported on GitHub, although it should go with the most detailed report, including clues such as I've posted above, this might help these boys to fix it.

It is Game Guru max. All Friday updates installed fine up to two months ago, when the program as such refused to launch any more. It simply shows a message window which says "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc2000007b). Click OM to close the application".

I found some info on google about that particular error

You may get an error message that says “The application was unable to start correctly” accompanied by an error code (0xc2000007b). This error message appears when you are trying to open an application on Windows. Usually this happens after you upgrade from an earlier version of Windows and something goes wrong with certain files or programs.

You can try the methods below and see if they can help you get rid of this error.

1) Reboot your computer

2) Run your application as administrator

3) Reinstall your application

4) Reinstall Microsoft .NET framework (for Windows 7 or below)

5) Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages

6) Update your Windows

Im thinking its more Windows related than Max to be honest.

@ Grandpamike
I guess the same as Synchro, it most likely has to do with missing DLLs, if so, I do not have an easy fix, Perhaps you have to get some tech help.
This tool might help as a start point, and to get a clue about it.

I suggest you don't download DLLs other than from Microsoft sites.

Thanks for all the assistance gents, but I'm afraid nothing helps. As I said, this started just after adding the August Friday update - up to that point there were no problems whatsoever. Be that as it may, I have now uninstalled the program and can only hope that the final product, when released, works properly.
Regards and thanks again, Grandpamike
