If you ignore the warning about saving any custom additions (entitybank and mapbank) to GGmax it is my experience this warning is real.

Clearing memory stuff using verify twice as instructed will delete any and all custom entitybank and mapbank files you have added to GGMAX. At least that is what happened to me while testing the feature.

Oh yes its real and will probably continue that way as max gets updated.
Most should be using the GameGuruApps files folder structure. ( Thats safe )
Unlike GG your not really supposed to use the core so ye if you have then it will get deleted.

Yes i have been doing that also .. Just in case Lee adds any new stuff to GameGuruApps in the update.
Its no probs to just copy it over into the fresh one

Oddly enough I took the risk as I haven't that much in there but never saw the message. It just updated and ran. Only issue was the thumbnail generation took a good hour to finish, so can see why the delete objects part was added. But all runs fine and not verified it yet. Sounds like PCS has had a worse time of it with GG files being deleted!

This build seems to have a problem creating thumbnails. During the process of creation (at different stages) MAX decides to just give up and kicks me back to the desktop. You want to experience true frustration, try to add custom entities to the entitybank... I have had to restart the editor so many times I'm wearing a hole in the desktop. I sometimes think I'm loading the model files into the wrong the folder. Pretty sure I've got it right though it's the same folder I have used on all earlier builds. Have to wait for the next Friday build I guess...

Ha! My system seemed like it had crashed a few times but trundled on. Eventually got em done and didn't crash. Had 3 fairly big DLC packs to cope with though, plus about 10 custom ones I have made. But yeah, thumbnail creation is for certain a little slow. Maybe a good idea to turn off 3D preview anims while generating for one.

All in the main Max folder. Not the best way apparently, but at the time worked fine; while adding to Documents Max folder did nothing. Although I approve of making it so you don't mess with the default Max files. It can cause issues in GG.

yh it didn't warn me either so i'm curious what it actually checks for and deletes? i would guess the core version of folders found in the Documents path are the ones it "removes/cleans" (so audiobank, entitybank, mapbank, ebebank, levelbank etc)?
i don't think i've imported any media into max other than making it open it via classic maps though so that could be why?

it didn't remove any scripts i have in the core path (i don't have a scriptbank in Documents either) though

I installed MAX clean on my 'F' drive, changed the writeable configuration thing to point at the same place, now there is nothing in Documents and no link between MAX and Classic in Steam on my 'D' drive.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

It looks like the BMP file is going to be generated by GGMax itself, at least for the imported models. Anyway, right now they are working on fixing some object library bugs.
About scriptbank, GGMax works with the folder placed on the root files folder.

I think they want to test GGMax with just stock media, for that reason GGMax is removing non-stock files. Nothing wrong with this, atm.

Nowadays is better to have the entitybank folder with just the stock media, plus the project files you are working on right now, so before updating, just move your project folder to a safe spot. imho.
