Going back to editor my trees lost all their texture. I tried to reassign but maybe I don't
get which texture goes where even though it seems obvious because now they are all
useless.;( Anyone know how to fix this. Tried quitting then reloading but no joy.
Thanks

EDIT: Now every last model has lost it's texture.
Super Bug ! Happen to anyone else?

I guess you are talking about GG; if so, try to verify files via steam.

GameGuruMax Not the Steam version. It's got something to do with my graphics card NVIDIA RTX 2070
Just wondering if anyone else has run into similar issues. Thanks.

I imported the user models into Classic and saved them there
then took them back into Max and so far so good.

Ah....no. This morning they're back to doing it again.
Not a fault with my system. It's in the code somewhere.
Hopefully it's an easy fix. When all's well the output of this engine is quite nice!

I've had white objects as well after reloading a level or even after running a test in Max. Although I haven't noticed it with the latest version and I have an old basic GPU in comparison.

Multi - Texture objects have a habit of going white.
Its all still in progress so no doubt it will get sorted.

Could be. Only noticed trees in the main. Only using default stuff so far, but trees could well be affected. Not noticed any white objects since last friday's update though, but not exactly stress tested it

The trees are more placeholder i think and are multi-textured.
They are written into the .fpe

;visualinfo
textured =
baseColorMap0 = bark10_color.dds
normalMap0 = bark10_normal.dds
surfaceMap0 = bark10_surface.dds
roughnessStrength0= 1.00
metalnessStrength0= 1.00
baseColorMap1 = birch leaf_color.dds
normalMap1 = birch leaf_normal.dds
surfaceMap1 = birch leaf_surface.dds
roughnessStrength1= 1.00
metalnessStrength1= 1.00
etc ,etc

The Problem is when you tick " Enable Custom Materials " it goes to pot as this is not yet catered for and they lose the texture path.
It normally only goes back after restarting Max.

"They lose the texture path" That! I'm using my own homemade model houses
and they are definitely multitextured. Sometimes they go white but then I click
on entity properties and the textures pop back on. Not always maybe 50% or the time.,
Then they may stay textured or not...Sometimes when they've gone white I'll add in
a built in entity and that makes the textures come back when I test.
What program do you use to edit FPE files without adding a txt extension?

You can open with Notepad.
Just select that when it asks you what to open it with.

They are trying a virtual texture system, though.

The major issue with multi-texture mesh I think is that you are unable to edit each texture as a standalone one, in other words, if you have a nesh with 4 textures, you being able to edit each texture as a separate texture.
ATM GGMax chooses some of these 4 textures in the example above and refers to this texture, in the Enable Custom Materials option, you are unable to edit these other 3 textures. I'm talking about the editor, not about the import feature.

@Doggie There was a fix for this one, could you try it in the latest version and let me know if it still happens for you

Note: " Enable Custom Materials " and "Multi Textured objects" still only allow changing one texture.

Using Beta 3 -Everything remains as stated above.
If anyone wants to investigate possible reasons
I'm making the models with Live Home 3D PRO (Windows Store)
and using their textures which reside in the directories I load the models from.
If that helps anyone.

Turns out I wasn't using the latest build. After looking through the forum this morning I followed advice how to update
And now have the latest build. Seems so far that it's working fine. Also nice to know I now have GGMax installed properly.
