Hi synchromesh! Thank you very much.

Yeah, I suppose I should work the effect in with when the player puts on a gasmask or radiation suit or something. Hehe!

Hi Gameguru peeps!

Here's some more gameplay vids, this time featuring a old factory and also showing my day/night system I'm working on.

Lol!

I just noticed after I posted the above videos that some powerboxes up against the wall had missing textures.

They denoted as .tga in their fpe files, while the actual textures are in dds format, so they didn't copy over to the standalone that the video was taken from. Hehe!

Thank you Synchromesh!

Thank you for the comments, it really means a lot to me, you guys are my heros and I look up to you people.

I cannot understand sometimes when people dis Gameguru. This engine Is very capable and can render sweet scenes like any other so-called "pro" engine like unity, unreal and even cryengine.

And he'll, I'm still using the DX9 version! And it still kicks booty!

I have tried all those so-called "pro" engine before, and all I can say is meh.

Sure GG has some issues. Hell, even x-ray engine that was used for the STALKER games is more buggy than GG.

The point is, it doesn't matter what tool you use, it's how you use it.

I'm a noob when compared to a lot of people around here, and it shows.

But I'm hell-bent to prove all the GG nay-sayers wrong and I will make a sweet lookin' game and release it on Steam. Yeah.

Solar , ja ek stem saam met jou.
There is just some small stuf that needs to be updated in GG then there will be no stopping what the people will be able to do with it.

Very cool scenes that in the last two videos

Quote: " I'm open for suggestions for a name for the village, if anyone can give me some ideas, I will be grateful."

As a polish speaker, which is a similar 2 russian language i have some ideas 4 a village name thats sounds natural 4 this region
Slovyanka - the slav(female)
Korolevo/Korolevka/Korolevsk - from the name of Korolev, a soviet rocket constructor
It was typical in soviet times 2 name cities and villages after ussr-heroes(leningrad, stalingrad)
And btw, russians are orthodox, the catholic church in one of your levels makes it a little bit unrealistic

@synchromesh
Its definetly not a russian orthodox church, either gothic style allthough the cross is a common greek one.Eastern orthodox architecture cointains allmost allways onion domes like the kremlin towers.

And the cross looks like this

@solar iam do just some constructive critique, dont wanna be a smart aleck or something like that

Not at all, if it is set in an eastern area, it should have the appropriate architecture.

Hi Synchromesh and osiem80. Thanks for the ideas. I think I can maybe change the cross on the model to a Orthodox cross. That would look really cool.

To make the enemy speak when he sees you, I use the stock enemy ai, and put the following in his fpe file:

Soundset=audiobank\myfolder\mysound0.wav
Soundset1=audiobank\myfolder\mysound1.wav
Soundset2=audiobank\myfolder\mysound2.wav
Soundset3=audiobank\myfolder\mysound3.wav
Soundset4=audiobank\myfolder\mysound4.wav

Put your enemy's sounds in the appropriate folder in the audiobank, and you're good to go!

Solar, does your church need to be enterable? Or can it be just scenery? If it's just a scenery object then i can have a try at making one for you.

This is what i have so far:

Hi Belidos. Wow that looks nice! It doesn't have to be enterable, it's just for background scenery.

Thank you very much for the offer, I appreciate it very much.

Here you go, there are four variations of the wall texture. Texturing's not great, it's kind of rushed, but it should be fine for a background model.

I'll also add this to my free stuff.

i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Hi Synchromesh. Yes, it does indeed. I was experimenting with a very basic day/night system, wich doesn't look too bad at the moment. Still needs a bit of fine-tuning though.

Thank you for the kind words, JC LEON. I agree that GG is more than capable to make a nice looking and playing game, it just depends on how dedicated the devs are and how they use the engine.

All engines have got drawbacks and limitations, the key is just to persevere and make do with what we got.

Howdy GG peeps! After a long while I have finished a 5 level demo of my project! There was a lot of changes made, but all hopefully for the best.

You can get the demo at the showcase, or download it from the link on the first post. I hope you all enjoy playing it, and let me know what you think.

Have some screenies!
