Would there be interest in a competition on who builds the most fantastic structure with EBE?

It would certainly make a good showcase for GameGuru ...

I'd give it a go too. Only using stock textures though. The prize, maybe not cash but store credit?

Advertise the store that way too.

I think custom textures should be allowed. That would show the real capabilities of the EBE. Otherwise, all the buildings would look the same!

Hi, thanks for the replies

I agree wit Jerry on the textures, Just make use of it to create something unique.
Textures dropped in the texture source map and used in EBE will be saved as a dds texture atlas when you save your structure.

If everyone agrees with it, than the time to build a game level with EBE will be 6 weeks until the end of March.
Have doors and windows from the entity bank but the structures/buildings should be made in EBE.
This really invites us to be inventive with the use of EBE.

In my view, yes, however i don't know who will join, or is busy with this little contest.

Maybe it is good if everyone who wants to compete in this competition confirms this in this thread.

Give feedback on the date, is it suitable or should it be changed.
When the next update is realised, there will be a tutorial on EBE in the docs folder, if i understood it properly, beta users should already have it.

I disagree with using custom textures. This should be a contest of the creativeness of the EBE itself. Allowing custom textures gives an unfair advantage to those of you who are Graphics Artists as opposed to those of us who are coders.

If it is with the stock assets of GameGuru, then I would participate.

I'm neither an artist nor a coder, although I have a little, amateur experience with both, but I do support the idea simply because good textures are freely available and DO demonstrate the creativeness and versatility of the EBE. Then again, I probably wouldn't have time for the competition anyway as work has been on overload these past couple years. Great idea, though!

Thurnok, you can find many good textures at textures.com and deviantart
I'm also not an artist and just learning through trial and error.
Moreover, i'm sure many artists on this forum will gladly help by answering questions.

So far there has not been much activity which leads me to think that it is maybe not the right time for this competition.
With the current updates there is a lot to explore and learn.
