Hi guys, this little tool maybe a good way to find out the screen coordinates X & Y for the mouse. It also has the scan key numbers.
I made this to easier plot areas of the screen for making menus and HUD's.
Below you will find the attached zip file with all the files included.
How to use
Step 1
Always back-up, back-up, back-up!
Step 2
Unzip attached [ Files ] and paste in the [ Game Guru ] folder.
\Steam\SteamApps\common\Game Guru
Step 3
Restart Game Guru.
Step 4
Load the map filename [ Cursor Edit Area.fpm ]
This will load the entity and script.
Step 5
There is no need to edit any properties of the cursor entity, as they have already been setup by the fpe and script files.
Step 6
Test map.
You will notice it will go into full screen with two images showing one above the other.
The bottom layer is a example of the title screen only for this test. You can change this for your own image. All you need to do is rename the png to yourImage.png and place in into the same folder (How to below). The images are set at 1920x1080.
In the top right hand side you will see the coordinates of the mouse and the key stroke in a panel.
Step 7
Move you mouse to find the X & Y coordinates you need and write them down.
Step 8
The keyboard scan codes.
When you press a key on your keyboard it will also be shown in the panel, the scan code then the key pressed.
Step 9
This will speed up game design and save you time to focus on more important areas. This is design to start as soon as you run the test level. If you want it to work only when you are near the cursor entity then you have to change the script.
In the screenshots below you can see I'm am plotting out the first button [ Start ].

In this screenshot I am pressing the [ e ] key which shows as scan code 18.

The file you can swap out for your own is [ yourImage.png ], which can be found here:-

The cursor entity will be in its own folder from the entity menu named [ Editor ]
