I have created a script that allows you to drive a model car in game guru , but it is not complete with a few bugs.
But here is the present version of it , Please tell me what you think.

I have just mostly fixed all the bugs i had and made some improvements , The only main problem i am having right now is just to add collision to it then it is complete in my opinion. However i will still work on it to improve it even more and make it even better.
I will soon upload a new video showing the latest version of my script in action.

My Car is basically done i just need to add collision which is gonna be pretty hard......But i think i have an idea to add collision but it's gonna take a while.
I hope my idea is gonna work , because if it does then i can drive and have collision.
I will upload my latest video where i can drive : forward , backward , turn right and left, brake, and make sharp turns if i brake while turning, Later tonight or tomorrow.

As you can see at the end of the video , there is no collision.
I am going to try and fix that soon.

HI roandoom, looking good so far except you will have to change the driving perspective. From the middle to left-hand drive. Unless your going to change it to an old 1960's bubble car where you enter the front and sit in the middle.

When you change the driving perspective you can also include steering animation too.

Have fun

Hi , and yeah i am also trying to get the position of the camera right.
Btw , let me hear you guy's opinion.

Should i make that you can look around in the car while driving and look when car isn't moving OR
Should i keep the way it is by making you look forward while driving and can only look around when car is not moving?

Thanks for your fast replies

Hi, not many games really have the head turning while driving unless it from another view point. You could add more view points.

Examples:
Through window
No window view
Bonnet view
Above car
Dash view

Also there would have to be another key press to use turn head in car option. But would not need the extra key while stopped but they are still in car.
If you really wanted to give a great option you could add mirror view too, rear view, and side mirrors too to see what's behind them.

Cool thanks , I also wanted to add more viewpoints in the car.
I am also going to move the viewpoint to the seat and once i have a model with steering wheel animation then im also going to add that.

Hi roandoom,

Great looking script here. I think you have done well to get this far.

I will however need to move this thread, as this board is for Work In Progress threads for games. We have other boards available for scripts and art.

Also, please use the edit button when you want to post something new, as opposed to posting multiple times; it just keeps it all a bit cleaner and easier to read for everyone.

As I said, good job so far, look forward to seeing more.

Cheers

Jay.

I had a go at this and found some issues too. How is it going with yours?

I prefer being able to look around when the cars is or isn't moving. Here's my attempt from a while back. Guess it depends on the gameplay, look and feel?

I had fair bit of code for the collision aspects ... worked OK to a point, but have kind of side-lined it waiting for access to the physics engine (if ever)
