The classic characters freeze sometimes instead of playing the dead animation.
Happens when you have some more on the map.

can you tell me which ones and i will see if i can fix the scripts
edit; fixed elhumongo death animation and dante's hurt/recovery from freaks pack
fixed decayed death animation and medusa hurt/recovery and death animation from viral
fixed apocalypse script for the zombies
all the other classic characters seemed to work when i tested but if you think i missed any let me know
i think the scripts are set up so that the characters should be always active = yes and so they don't always die correctly because they are not by default - as a quick fix you should be able to toggle it.
the freeze after getting hurt will likely not be fixed though as they seem to call a state that doesn't exist.

@Lee can i send you the scripts to add to the next update or am i allowed to post them here?

the new content is great though, the character AI and animations are impressive

The medusa and some of the zombies don't ragdoll death and don't seem to run a death animation, also none of the sci-fi characters do anything, I noticed they use default.lua, but changing it to ai_soldier just makes them run at you and do nothing but follow you about, even if you try to add a weapon to their FPE.

Really not time to test update.
I had noticed "about box" telling v1.31 instead of v1.32, anyway that's a minor bug.
It gives me 20 fps with a large map with alot of assests (settings off), not bad for my laptop.

I had seem a couple of creatures I could incorporate in my map, I'm goint to test them right now.

I think if your card can give'u 80 fps, but you are getting 20 fps because the bad perfomance, when GG improve perfomance, you are going to get those 70/80 fps; however if your card being able to give'u just 20 fps, do not wait for miracles.

Smallg I tested the Characters you fixed the first time it was perfectly fine I put it on a again and the Zombie and Viral guy both froze the second time the Zombie, Viral guy and Medusa all froze and the third time El Humongo joined the others in freezing.
Dante's beast worked grand completely and Thank you for the Chainsaw File it made him more realistically .

First i want to make clear that the original scripts are not my work and no credit should be taken from Lee (i assume) as the scripts are already great, my edits were very minor (i just fixed a few animation freezes here and there) but you should also copy and backup your original Classics folder from your scriptbank as these will overwrite the original scripts (just in case).
and a video for showcasing the new characters because i think they deserve one

note; i have fixed the animation freeze upon taking damage from range (seen in the video - too lazy to re-record) but they still won't react/attack yet, i simply stopped them freezing so they continue to idle (and die).
the chainsaw brute uses the edited script with the flesh cutting sound requested by lordjulian so i have included the sound for that too
also the unarmed script is not changed so any characters marked as (unarmed) or the scifi characters still don't do much - hope to add a script for those at some point if i can.

If you downloaded the DLC there should be a new folder in your assets called " Classics "
Open GameGuru ....add new entity and click on the " Classics" Folder on the left.

If you don't see the classics folder .... Go back to the steam DLC section and re tick the " Expansion DLC " box

Will will be able to have the same animated shader for the Medusa? Because in GG its very flat and doesn't look at all like its original intended visuals. In fact there are a lot of missing shaders from the Viral Pack that I'm not seeing in GG.



I tried bringing them into GG myself, it seems like GG doesn't support some of those animated shaders. This is unfortunate.

No plans to bring any of the FPSC shaders over to GameGuru. Naturally, when the voting board puts focus on shader/rendering work, we can use the Viral models as a great template on which to test out the improved visuals. Of course there is nothing to stop an enterprising user to take the character_basic.fx shader and add the relevant elements to resemble the legacy look.

As it seems like the next up date is taking forever it seem to me that all betas should
be made available to everyone and not just a select few . that way anyone who wanted to install and try it they could.
and no wait till a few said it was working then have it installed by steam and then find out it wrecks your installed version.

Nothing stops you from applying to be a beta tester but guess what ..... Even the beta version installs via steam ...
I think all steam products auto update ( well mine do anyway ) so its pretty unavoidable at some point ..

Cant see how that can be as you cant roll back an update.unless you uninstall the whole thing.
And reinstall but when it reinstalls its the version you uninstalled.
so you would need 2 steam accounts and two computers with GG installed.

I think we do allow you to roll back to the previous version via steam ( which is rare for any steam product )
But the point is you still wont know whether the update is ok unless you install it first ...
Either way a backup is recommended..

I'm struggling to see why you think its a problem ?
I have Leadwerks engine, S2 Engine, Clickteam Fusion, Shoot em up kit ... All are automatically updated and cannot be rolled back ?
In fact neither can any of my games ..Ark Survival. Take On Mars etc ... That's the way steam is ....

Are you new to steam perhaps ?

You can switch between beta and live via the properties in steam, it doesn't uninstall and reinstall the whole thing, it replaced the different files. You can Aldo switch between the last two live versions.
