For all 3ds max users.

The latest update of Windows 10, brings some problems, I will speak here only about the problem related to 3ds max.

For some unknown reason Windows 10 disables the service called "FexNet", which is used by Max for to check user license; obviously being deactivated checking service can not be performed.
You enter the activation number give by Autodesk, but you get the error anyway.

You go to services and active service again in automatic mode>OK, Back to service (FexNet)>RMB>start service, and problem solved.
The best bet is to check every Windows update, and enable this service before running Max.

I hope this can help if you have this problem.

Hmn, that's odd, I have windows 10 and religiously update it, and I haven't had any issues with 3ds Max.

I've never had problems before, so I decided to search the internet in some autodesk forums, I found the solution related to the latest update of Windows (huge update):

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3176936

I take a look at windows services, and effectively had disabled the FlexNet service, active / reboot again, and fixed.

I do not think this is the only cause, but at least is an option to consider.

God catch.

I've not had an issue myself, but maybe it's certain versions of windows 10 only, or a combination of the windows update and some other software installed conflicting and shutting down that service.
