I don't think you can have a muzzleflash using this method, otherwise i'm pretty sure MX8 would have included how to get it working with hiss info here. This is only a third person workaround, it's awesome out of the box thinking by MX8, but it still has issues and flaws, it's the best we can get until third person for all characters is officially worked on by the devs.

hi there ive got everything working but the gun shoots under at the floor even when ive got camera locked its not shooting at the crosshair has anybody got any ideas

Did you replace the crosshair with the one provided?

Thanks MXS for the info I got it working I used the provided crosshair , the only problem I have is the bullet impact is a bit higher than the crosshair, is it possible to adjust this.

Can you guys help me to set up a Unarmed third person? and use the waiting animation when the character standing for long time like the ai, I think its will help for some users .

I don't think you can set a third person character to idle, as you can't use a script on a third person character.

As to the unarmed third person, that should be easy to do, i just don't know how.

You can use a script on the third person character, thats how I did it for the astronaut (see my thread on here).

Simply attach the script to the character before you attach it to the start marker.

You may need to handle all animations within the script though, you can't use the AI commands on it (I haven't tried but I can't imagine it would work).

ah that's good to know, I was under the impression that any script on the character was overridden by the start marker.

Hi friends I made a try, I deleted the pistol from the soldier lua and I used the same animations like the unarmed soldier, and here the result

here is the link to the unarmed character. just swap the classic character animation for the soldier animation. fpe file and unarmed weapon is in the attachment. another thing the reason why there is no animation with your character is because the have to be set up with a weapon so just download the unarmed weapon file assign it the the soldier.

If GG would allow us to manage third pereson as we want , with animations we want , with a better camera this would be better than trying to hack GG functionnalities.

FYI I prefer using camera distance 180, X Offset 15, Y offset 75, gives a slightly closer over the shoulder feel.

Also per my bug report, if you change the stoodpunch line in the FPE to 515,605, it will show the reload animation.

This is fantastic! Really opens doors for many people and many projects! I used your Top down settings but cameralock no, and jumpspeed 0 along with the new addition of turning sprint off, combined with a (simple) hud, and got a Mech style game, or even a spaceship is done right! Good fun ahead
