It is just me or are the users of the GG forums getting more aggressive? I wouldn't say I've been trolled but this week alone I've had a couple of people be less than polite to me.

It's normally so friendly.

Maybe it's the heat, although this is an international forum.

Oh?
I wasn't on too much the last 10 days as I took a vacation from everything. Few exceptions but I haven't noticed all too much difference.
If someone ever gets abusive to you or another forum member, please let a mod know! We will drag them outside and ...moderate! Yes! We will moderate them!

All joking aside. We care about a civil and respectful tone on these boards, if there are users who are clearly abusive and/or overly aggressive to other members there will be consequences.

Heatwave in my country too. Will reach its high point tomorrow and then cool off they say. I hope it will

I've felt the forums to be quite inactive lately. I could be wrong.

Its boiling here - even in Canada lol

It usually slows down around here when most things on a release have been sorted out, and most folks are just waiting for the next one.

Attitudes can be attributed to heat, for sure, especially for those who aren't used to it; I live in a desert, and 115 F + is normal around this time of year. I think some people are just like that naturally. They have a hitch in their get-along. (I saw your exchange, Julian, and it's not the first time I've witnessed that; the slinging of insults must help them feel validated, or some kind of psycho-babble like that. Perhaps somebody's mother abused them as a child, or maybe it was the gardener. Who knows?) I can only say if you have a question, ask. Don't let somebody's immaturity get you down. There are plenty of people around here willing to help (even said person; just read between the vitriol), and every question asked is one that perhaps somebody else didn't even realize they had. A question answered is priceless.

I saw that, but I think you are overreacting on that one.

To be honest I didn't see anything really bad in what the main person you are talking about said, granted he was very blunt and yes towards the end when you took the bit and spoke out he got a bit more blunt, but it was more the words he used than the point he was getting across, I notice he sometimes use words that while they do mean the same as the words he's trying to get across are seen as impolite or condescending versions, I would put that down to the fact that his English isn't very good.

I think in that case it really was more a case of language barrier, as he is a very nice guy, and his posts do come across as blunt spoken and abrupt because his English isn't the best and he doesn't always use the right words, but i'm pretty sure he didn't mean any offense

The size of your humility should be proportional to the size of your knowledge.

Yes. I probably did overreact. That's the problem with communicating via text and when there's a language barrier too it's not surprising there can be a misunderstanding or two.

Anyway, thank God it seems a bit cooler now here in the UK.

There have been a few I have seen and put some on moderation until their attitude changed .... Then they say I'm over reacting
I don't think so myself .... As long as there aren't any spelling mistakes in posts I don't Ban many

This is a desert, after all. The trade-off is that it never gets cold, I guess, although it did snow once back in 1986, I think. It looked kinda cool because it actually stuck on the cacti and palm trees. It was gone by 9am.
