Hi guys, anyone have any idea on how to incorporate 2 camera views into a game; ie something like a driving game and you have a rear view mirror with a different camera view in it; so basically a picture in a picture.
Racked my brains and cant see any way to use more than one camera at a time.

Any advice would be more than welcome.

We don't have any commands to control the main camera yet, we definitely won't be able to have two cameras any time soon.

you could do it with sprites and their distance and angle relating to the player like the radar script if you really wanted to.

Sprites wouldn't give him a picture of what's behind him though would it?

Sure it would, you can create entire games completely out of sprites if you want

Yep but you did say there should be a workaround and that's the only one that comes to mind
For something like a formula 1 racing game this would probably be an easy solution, a simple sprite to show a bit of road in the mirror and then some extra sprites to show the front of any cars following behind... If you restrict the view / size of the mirror.

This is the only other camera view I have found. see screenshot
There is a shader that gives you a top down view, (masked) camera view of the map, I never got around to see if I could manipulate it, as I need to learn the shader language.
I cannot remember which shader it was, ill have to dig around in a backup drive to find the fpe to tell.
It might be of some use oneday.

Note: the red arrow point to the same entity, in the screenshot.
