Whew!!!
Only learnt of it on Saturday, already several hours into the 48 hours they give you to create a game...
Frantically created a map kept adding elements, then started detailing it, testing regularly....all good.
Kind of slowed down once I passed more than 2 million objects, including something like 80 zombies, but hell it did kind of take on its' own monster life!!!

SO anyway people, please visit Game Jolt and give it a look and hopefully a vote of support!

Just shows how far GG has come that I could build quite a large, quite detailed map and still run happily on my PC...

Will be breaking it down into easier manageable chunks and remaking it in 'episodes' which I will post in WIP thread.

Cheers for now

ok, I downloaded this and the executable needs to be under the midtown ruins 9 folder to run or you get a silent windows error.

Playing it now.
Has a lot going on inside it. the update next week should give a vast improvement.

I'll check it out before I call shenanigans, but 2 million objects? Alexa tells me there are only 172,800 seconds in 48 hours. You would have to place several per second to achieve that, even if they were only individual triangles! Even then, I think GG would crash, but maybe not. Again, like I said, I'll check it out. Gotta walk the dog now.

I think he means polygons, and it is pretty packed with stuff. Runs slow on my machine at 10 fps.

I thought that might be what he meant, lol, but who am I to second guess? I downloaded it, and on the second try I moved it into the "midtown ruins 9 folder" and it gave me a visible error. I rebooted, then launched it again, and got the same error. (506, couldn't load image at (whatever line number)). Bummer! I will continue to poke around with it, and see if I can get it to run. I am curious, yet I can't ethically give a vote one way or the other unless I can get it to work.

EDIT: Doesn't run for me, sorry.

Try rebuilding the standalone with the latest V1.1 build on Steam and let me know how it goes. If you still find users experiencing a crash, send it to me directly at lee@thegamecreators.com (might need to use an upload service if over 20MB) and I can trace the issue for you.

Hmmm. Sorry guys, shoulda tried it on another machine but it really was a last minute dash.

Can't remember where I saw the message about 2M somethings, so maybe it was polygons but I'll go back now and have a look.

It has triggered me off to create some new assets, soundtracks etc. and break down the larger set into individual subsets..

All good fun, cheers for now
