Well, I have been developing my Lua coding skills but remain at the bottom of the 'novice' scale., I'm afraid. :-(

I have been creating a level for my two youngest nieces (aged 7 and 9) which I am desperate to be ready (fully tested, working, fun and well-packaged) for Christmas. I still have three levels to create so the heat is on!

Anyway, the level I am currently working on is set in school. Obviously, school is no place for violence so I've made it a quest type game. As part of this I modified the stock fantasy character ai script so it would follow waypoints but basically ignore the player and, certainly, not attack her!

I am rather proud of my script and very happy to share is here (crude as it is). However, although it works flawlessly in all levels I have designed to test it, it does not work properly in the very level for which I created it. Instead, the character adopts a 'ready to shoot' pose despite being unarmed. I tried deleting all entities... no joy. Then all waypoints... no joy.

I also deleted all .bin, .dat and .dbo files.

I would be most grateful for any help.

Please enjoy my modifications to the stock script if they work for you.

Thanks in advance.

Julian

Have you looked at the Civilian script going around ?
Not sure if its already what your looking for ?

if its not what your looking for it still may help you with yours ....
I find even a zombie will ignore you with this one and just follow the set waypoint
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Thanks. I tried it but the character still won't walk.

I just cleaned up your post. I placed the code inside the lua tags, so, it makes easier for people to read.

Cheers

Jay.
