Hi stor, here's a good place to start:

Description: Ravey talks though Lua basics and how to start off with scripting by changing an existing script.

Description: Ravey talks through how to create your own lua script and walks through one of the existing multiplayer scripts.

Description: Ravey walks through the Solidier AI scripting, explaining how it fits together and highlighting interesting functions to call when making your own or changing existing scripts.

Description: Find out how to make your own teleporter with LUA and GameGuru.

Description: Learn how to use GameGuru and LUA to script a non-animating door to open and close for the player.

Thank you,
I saw it, but there's only the new functions there up to 1.009. I'm sure there are many old and new functions that can be used, or am I mistaken?

nope that looks like all of them, you can look in global.lua for the complete list of usable functions and variables (minus the AI stuff), more stuff will get opened up in future but for now we just work with what we have.
note; some commands will cause unexpected side effects too (SetAmbianceIntensity() for example)
