Did you try the brush with the grass looking icon in the editor?
It will be painted green.

If you want to see the grass as you paint, then run test game, Press F9 then choose the grass brush.
Start painting and you will see the grass there as you paint it.

Hold the shift key and then paint the area you want to go back to the base texture.

Ah I see. The sand terrain set does not have a grass texture.

You could create your own, combining the best of the terrains textures that fit your needs.

Duplicate one of the terrainbank folders and rename it.
Rename all assets to the same name.
Copy in the textures you want to replace.
Erase to old and rename the new to the same name as you are replacing.
Erase the superpallet.ter file.

Open GameGuru and set a start marker.
Run test game and then go into the matrics panel (tab tab)
Choose the new terrain from the terrain dropdown list.
Now you should be able to paint things as you want.

The default texture is the grass texture in the default terrain.
You will need alpha channel for all _D textures compressed at dxt5.

Hope that helps.

They do. I need to take time after the dx11 update to redo these textures. I am not happy with them anymore. They need more detail.

Glad you are getting some use out of them.

Was hoping long ago GG would allow for more ground texture simultaneously in the same map. Maybe in the future.

This is actually on the voting board

Upto 16 Terrain Textures

Using a technique called Texture Splatting there will be a new limit of 16 textures you can paint down onto the floor. This will also fix the seam issue seen in the current GameGuru terrain as it will render the textures in the order you drew them.

I'm still confused about the voting system. Do the items not voted not get added? Or is it a priority list? I would never vote more terrain textures as a more prioritized "feature". It would just be one of those nice things to have but not critical in the slightest.

Everything on the board is intended to be added ....
Its just what's most voted for gets added first ...

No doubt the user priorities will change as the features are implemented .... Many will probably change their minds and want something else done first as features are implemented.
