Anyone know if there is a Skybox Lua command to enable ingame switching?

No not at the moment. There Are some commands in the global.lua file that control ambiance and surface lighting, just like the sliders in the metrics mode.

Thanks for the reply Myke, I have used those commands for my day/night cycle which work great but I need to either change the skybox or dim the sky in script - setbrightness exists but doesn't work - any other thoughts?

No, sorry. There is no script commands for them yet. The goal is to have script commands for everything, It is on the voting feature for community vote, I think it is in the top 10 at the moment.

this is only for night time like effect?
the quickest solution in theory would likely be to create a decal that matches the intended skybox and then keep it above the player at all times (not sure if anything this size is possible though)... until a real solution is available anyway
you could even scale the decal up and down to match the changing of the time.
edit; to clarify im talking about a flat square above the player just to cover the top of the skybox, the sides of the skybox would still work as they already do (which seems fine with fog etc)

i assume you still want the sky box to be normal during the day (or whatever) otherwise editing the skybox yourself would be an option.
