I'm wondering if I'm missing something here but can a model cast a shadow on a portion of itself? I have a model of a city complete with buildings and streets all as one big model. When I place it in my level it has shading due to the sun lighting one side, but the buildings do not cast shadows on the streets at all. Is there something like a shader I can use or some setting I'm not seeing? Thanks in advance.

I now of one setting in the fpe file.
castshadow = 1 or 0

Thanks, yeah I tried variations of those, to no avail but I guess I'll have to wait till that feature finally comes up...long wait.

I believe the shader might need to be set on highest for this to happen. Maybe static lights also. I know the sunlight has shadows from an object projected on itself in the sunlight.

I will run some more tests. Lighting still a WIP.

unfortunately the sun light does not cast a shadow of a model on itself no matter what the shader setting is on. It cast on other models but not itself. here is an example- a building with a radio antenna will not cast the antenna shadow on the roof. IMHO the lighting/shadows should not be considered a special feature to be voted on; it should be part of the base work, but that's just me.
