Hi,

I'm working on a new pack of Egyptian monuments (former and current Egypt monuments)

There are 15 first objects produced, with fifty expected in the final pack :

- Ancient monuments
- Recent monuments
- Walls with hieroglyphics
- Egyptian Statues
-Columns
etc ...

I currently build 3 or 4 objects by week, so the project is far from being finalized!
I gladly shared objects that are already finalized (for those interested!)

some images attached below ...

Wolf, you're the best one !

I waited impatiently for someone to tell me "seriously" !
You have well recognized the sets of "Serious Sam 3", but ...

As it's impossible (to my knowledge) to rip the game's graphics of this game, there are only copies, made with Milkshape3D and 3DSMax.
Ok... only the textures are original screenshots of the game I also reworked to put on my objects made with Milkshape3D.

See images below:

WELL SEEN !!

If you plan on selling or distributing these I would definitely create my own textures if I were you. Getting textures from a screenshot is still not legal. You can create and imitate from a game with no problem as long as the models and textures are original works of art. The models do look great. Here is a place you can go to get some raw materials to work with for retexturing- http://www.cgtextures.com/ Keep up the good work !

Thank you for the advice "Disturbing 13".
Some textures used in the original game are photos of real monuments (from the real world !!!)
I guess I can also use photos that I took during a trip to Egypt ...

PS : I'll add my head randomly on hieroglyphics for joke !!!

This has given me encouragement to try to get all the Egyptian Characters from FPSCx9 into GG. They looked quite good!

Scripting can be a headache though with Characters in LUA..... wondering if some parts are hardcoded :/

I bought this package (which I have used with DBPro)
Teabone, If you can use the characters in GG, please think to prevent me !!!

PS: I used one of these characters with DBPro. It was easy with the enhanced animation system ...

See below pictures in DBPro (test game at 3rd person view...)

By the way I love the models your working on, such an interesting theme to take on. Your Dark Basic project looks pretty cool too by the way.

Of course, I would like to continue my game project, but now with GG instead of DBPro.

Many visual effects are too heavy to manage with DBPro and my project became "impracticable"... or so, I'm not smart enough to get there ... I am better in graphic design than in pure code!

Also, with my level editor, I had to build the entire level with one single object, while GG is easier, and the final visual result is much more beautiful ...
PS : Thank you Lee for this huge increase!

I will prepare the ZIP files for those who are interested as soon as I have objects enough...

The last one for tonight !

Hi I have come in late to this but I think these items are fantastic, they have a 'real' quality to them. Well done Mariokiki, I can't wait to see the final pack.
HP Pavilion Laptop, AMD A8-4555M APU with Radeon(tm) Graphics HD Graphics 1.6GHz, 8GB Memory, 64 Bit Operating System (Windows 8.1), 1 TB Hard Drive.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

As you know, I intend to make the most realistic game as possible...
This is why I spend a lot of time on the details of the objects, but I don't know how many maximum polygons can have an object ?

Here is a sample of items in preparation ...and an example of real objects transformed into 3D objects.

Thanx for advices !

Hello Marokiki:

There is a 19 000 polygon limit for an individual object as far as I know. I try to keep my buildings below 5000 Polygons personally. You can have more nowadays than a few days back but I'd try to be somewhere between 400 and 3000 for large objects! You can always use the LOD system aswell.

Thanks Wolf for the clarification !

How can I use the LOD system?
Do I need to re-create other identical objects with less polygons with the same name + .LOD extention, someting like this ?

Main object : monument.dbo
Away object : monument.LOD1
Far away object : monument.LOD2

The first part of the pack is finished !

It remains to make the most complicated: The statues, large buildings (old and current houses) in order to have as complete as possible pack !

Latest addon :
Walls with doors (opened and closed)
Monuments (minaret and small temple)
Broken walls (ancient egypt style)

Note :
As you may know, I used textures from the game "Serious Sam 3" on my first models.
To be in compliance, I redid these models entirely using, for some, personal pictures and free pictures from the Net.

I hope to be in good standing and have no problem to distribute my models free ...

These look great! I'm glad you went with your own textures. How soon before a pack is ready?
