I've been meaning to recreate my house and yard in Blender for just that purpose, to try different paints, flooring, furniture, etc. When Lee gets around to putting Oculus Rift support back in, it will be even better for that purpose. Relatively quick and easy simulation.
EDIT: Yes I can do this in UE4 out of the box already, and could probably do it in Unity as well. I can also do it with DBPro already, but I'm partial to GG!
