I am no scripter, just learning slowly in lua but I was wondering if anyone knew a quick answer to removing the flashlight ability.

I think you may use g_InKey for check what key was down. And you can read about HideLight() in global script at 475 line.

The flashlight is a shader effect and not an actual light. Lee stated that he added this to the todo list to have the option not to use it.
