It's interesting to note that the ProBuilder tool for Unity has an export feature. So, with Unity 5.0 free version and this Unity asset, you could make indoor levels and export them for use in Game Guru. Not a bad deal.

Not to complex and advanced.. I want a construction kit that is very basic. My ideal solution would for it to consist of lots of segments which can be snapped together in a grid and for texturing to be able to be done on the fly with lots of different texture presets. Simplicity is key.

That is absolutely horrible. I would never use a tool so primitive, unintuitive, cludgy, and hackish. The worst I've ever seen.

Pretty sure that was a roughed out version of a start to the ConKit, Tom. Simon mentioned once or twice that there was much more to work on with it.

Well, it's the way in which the tool is designed to work that I find horrible. The concept of running around in first person and looking around the scene and then instancing and painting using look mode is very bad. Now, if the tool ends up being point and click with widgets to move/rotate/scale as well as proper texture application, then it might be a good tool to use. But from what I see, it seems that the free form FPS style editing is by choice and not just rough. I could be wrong though. If I am then I will be very happy.

Well, he did say he was using it in "easy mode". That would tell me there was more in depth uses planned.

OK, so I hear "easy mode" and I think that running around in FPS mode trying to build something useful is going to be near-impossible. Easy to me would be precise tools to place and manipulate entities. But maybe that's just me. Hopefully, the hard/advanced, or whatever it's going to be called, mode will be more along the lines of what I was hoping for.

I'd be content with an overhall of the old segment system. I have always managed to make pretty levels with it, something with an adjustable grid and primitive manipulation functions as shown in TJS's video would be desirable to complement a fast and moddable way to draw large room areas and then manipulate them.

If the construction kit came back for use in Free flight mode and top down mode i would be happy. Kind of similar however to the segment editor in FPSC. This video shows how powerful the construction kit could really have become.

Wow I just watched the first video that Unity tool is amazing, that could be used to build so many in depth levels and designs.

I hope game guru eventually comes with an advanced level builder but I don't really see it happening on anywhere near the level of fidelity displayed in this video. Game guru is marketed as a video game on steam and aimed at very new users to game making, a tool like this would be more for power users and GG does not fit the pipeline for power users.
