I purchased it here from the store. Works really well too!

Although you do need a PC keyboard or laptop that has a numeric keypad on it.

Just planning the maps out, while trying to keep good frame rates. Once the update comes, things will move quickly I hope.

Thanks for the comments.

i have the same hope waiting for the update and i hope i will not be disappointed
the numberpad is a cool idea. i like your style. you have dark areas and a post apocalyptic feeling just like in saviour wich was also very nice. it's very interesting to see what kind of games come out when you give GG to a few people and let them develope!

I agree nuncio, always had ideas but no real way to bring them to life, now with GG it can happen. Dabbled years ago on the amiga in blitz basic, even had couple of games on an amiga format coverdisk, remember those, lol, but since then nothing until... now.

the numberpad is in the store, easy to use as well, going to be using that a lot I think.

do you remember "klik and play" (i don't know if it was THIS name) it was a game maker for windows 95. i wanted to make a shooter game but it became a quest-adventure.
i am so impressed by a script that you use in saviour i will write you soon, you need to help me with this. it's the pistol thats hidden behind the crate and that you can only take when you REALLY go into that corner and look at the pistol. that's great
sorry for off topic i watched the videos and i like the game. i like the use of scripts and lighting, i think i would like to play when it's finished.

@nuncio - Have to save I dont recall klik and play at all, I had shoot em up contruction kit though.

And some news for you below

You will be able to play, the 1st level very soon, as I will be uploading the "Empty" Lost in Time Level 1, for everyone to play and explore. There are no actual puzzles in this one, as I'm re-doing them as I learnt a lot while doing Saviour. The island is very big, there are several locations to look at, all have a sinister atmosphere, so lights out for this one. Looks amazing on a 40" TV.

Once again thanks for the comments nuncio.

I will post the link here as soon as it is uploaded. (Will be live before 22/08/15)

The unpacked level will need 2.5gb. (Packed with Vishnu)

The 3 shuttered building requires a key, which is hidden before you can enter it.

The 10 object door is not enterable (yet!)

Good headphones recommended.

This demo is just to see what sort of frame rate people are getting now, before the performance update.

@ nuncio - The castle is on a later level, and the demo of level 1 should be available by 9.00pm GMT 21/09/15

Some areas on level 1 still unpopulated and sparse, just getting the important bits in 1st, then the puzzles etc, then fill with the clutter.

So as soon as upload is done, you can, at least wander about a bit on the island, which is almost a full size map.

My FPS goes from over 60 to about 33 in busy areas, bring on the performance.

@3com - thanks mate, looking forward to putting in the puzzles and stuff on this level, then I will release a full demo level. This will be when the update is fully complete. The demo level will be 10 times larger than the 1st Saviour level.

DEMO NOW AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD- 1st level only - no puzzles, just a stroll on a sparse, empty, destroyed island.

Places to find include.

Hilltop house.
Fishing Bay.
Derelict street.
Old shack lookout point.
Coastal sheds.
Building complex with some remotely locked doors. (some you can enter if you find the keys )
Warehouse Building - key enterable.
Containers.

Any comments suggestions are welcome, I've stripped out the puzzles as I've said, and the 10 collectables locked door, you cannot enter (yet) And do bear in mind there are some unfinished terrain edges which are a bit rough as yet.

Puzzles will be back in once performances is updated.

Grab some good headphones and enjoy, oh there are some scary bits too.

Download is 790Mb, unpacked. (packed with Vishnu)

if you use winrar to upack and make sure you run it with admin rights it might make a difference. I'll see if devs can help too.

@nuncio - I'm at a loss here as to why these errors are occurring. I have unpacked with winrar and freearc and launched fine here, I have let some of the devs know this is happening, so as soon as I hear back I'll let you know. Sorry about this.

What version of Windows are you using?

If anyone else has downloaded and has any problems please post here, or even it worked for you can you please post here also.

HI Mark, no errors here. Very cool sounds and surroundings--I walked for quite a while so the map must be huge.

My FPS stayed in the 60-70's range the whole time and that's on a rig I built four years ago, and with some other programs (Visual Studio 2015, Firefox, Bandicam) running in the background. I was able to task-switch without a problem. Here are my specs:

OS: Windows 7 x64
CPU: i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
GPU: GTX 580 w/1.5 GB

Anything else you need just let me know. Kudos again on a professional job!

So in the hud when you started again, all the text vanished? Am I correct there?

@ timba - I tend to plan out levels so nothing is in a line from the player, keeps the FPS up, and also, no trees, I'm waiting for hardware instancing before I put the trees in. As my levels are dark I use the tab tab to shorten the terrain view range Down to about 50%, also the biggest drain is shadows, so for the moment they are off, as are the light rays.

@ nuncio - thanks nuncio, more to come soon

Looking great! Am getting an average of 43 FPS which is amazing given my aging PC:

Intel Q9550
8GB of DDR2
Radeon HD 4870 2GB

Slowed down to 25-35 FPS when I strayed off the path at the beginning.

Great work!

So much awesome content here! Tarkus, this project is turning out amazing, I am thoroughly impressed with your ingenuity and level buildings skills. I love how neatly you have combined various store assets, creating atmospheres that are capitvating and intriguing, the dark atmosphere is felt in all of the videos.

Really really cool stuff here. You've got a knack for world building, the assets all tie together very well. Going to download the demo soon and check it out!

Just played the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it! Few questions and a few comments. I understand you removed a lot of puzzle elements but there was a part of the map that was inaccessible. On the map it looks like a long bridge connects it. The atmosphere was phenomenal but it would do a bit better if it were a little bit brighter- the moonlight is not enough to truly take in the sights and the flashlight does not go far enough. My framerate was great, no slowdowns whatsoever. Some of the door puzzles didn't work at various times I tried the game- the door would open but the entrance would still be blocked. Unfortunately it wasn't a specific door it was different ones on different playthroughs. There was a face painted guy in a yellow suit near the cell phone; was he supposed to have a function? Just wondering. It is kind of difficult to traverse and find places without the map you included, perhaps you can include a map behind a glass case at each of the buildings with a 'You are Here' arrow showing where you are, or even a toggleable map on the player's person. Just a suggestion. Even with the map it took a good long time to play the level (didn't finish the game due to door malfunctions, just explored all the terrific sights). I am so looking forward to seeing more of this game and replaying the first level with puzzles. Good luck with the rest of development!

@teamhalo - Thanks for the great comments. Yes the videos do have a lot of atmos, but the demo is even better, yes, there are a lot of unfinished bits of the map and the usual bugs and glitches (doors opening, but being unable to enter) You will enjoy the demo, your buildings were an amazing help in the production of this game.

@Disturbing13 - The Bridge was the bit I was adding that will be invisible until certain conditions are met, so that is a WIP part of the map. Yes I agree it is a bit too dark at the moment. The door bug is a known bug in gameguru, I hope it's sorted in a future update. The guy in the yellow suit serves NO purpose, well not yet, but he will, lets just say I have to do some voice work to enhance the levels. The map behind glass is a great idea I might put a map in certain places that the player can pick up too. A toggle map is easy to do with a script

Thanks Harry, yes the door issue is a glitch.... I might move the detection range a bit further away that might help.

Taking some time out here, while the performance update is going on to learn some LUA, build a few test levels and test out my own new LUA scripts. Keep your eyes peeled

Just completed a nice map script which displays a map.

Still working on refining it, but you just press E to pick up a map, once collected you can view it by pressing M, then as you move the player using a,d,w,s the map will disappear. Also the map image is semi-transparent so the game shows through the map image.

thank you harry, working a little slower now to build the levels, and once performance is done i will be concentrating on expanding the puzzle elements. Hoping to steam greenlight an expanded version of saviour game early next year, about february. Expanded version will have 5 instead of the current 2 levels.
